Chapter 87 The case of Taoist Zhu Yi

From then on, Fu Qingzhu continued to practice medicine among the people and wrote books at the same time. Until he was forty-nine years old, the famous "Zhu Yi Taoist Case" occurred. prison. The reason for this happened was that at that time there was still the Nanming Yongli regime in the south, which was engaged in anti-Qing movement (it was later suppressed by Wu Sangui), and the Yongli government sent a man named Song Qian to Shanxi to organize the uprising. After arriving in Shanxi, he extensively contacted anti-Qing people in Shanxi, preparing to wait for an opportunity to revolt. Song Qian once came to see Fu Qingzhu.

Originally, Song Qian had made an appointment with people from all walks of life to revolt on March 15, but when he passed through Wu'an County on March 12, a catcher found Song Qian riding a mule and horse, and carrying a bow and arrow with him, acting suspiciously. So he reported to the county government, and the county government sent soldiers to arrest Song Qian in the early morning of the 13th. Under torture, Song Qian betrayed and confessed some of the organizers of the uprising. This incident happened at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan) and was reported to the imperial court. Soon, the imperial court ordered that Song Lian be executed (this is a very stupid order), and other people were arrested.

So Fu Qingzhu and his son Fu Mei were imprisoned. In fact, we can see very few records about the whole process of the case from ordinary documents, and people always have different opinions, but fortunately, in 1963, the interrogation of the "Zhu Yi Taoist case" was found in the Qing Dynasty archives of the Beijing Central Archives Record and judge the question book, so that we can see the real situation and have a deep understanding of the matter. After Fu Qingzhu was arrested, he had a "comfortable look", and despite severe torture, he still "couldn't speak in disorder", showing the true qualities of a man.

During the interrogation, Fu Qingzhu calmly dealt with the interrogation, insisted that he did not participate, and refused to confess other people. Because he knew that Song Qian had been executed, he made a request during the response: "If the person surnamed Song is brought here, he will be with Shan (Fu Qingzhu himself, Fu Shan) was mixed among the chaotic people, if he knew De Shan, Shan would be willing to plead guilty." (The above is the original text of the interrogation record) The interrogators were so angry that their heads were about to explode. Which bastard ordered Song Qian to be killed first (ordered by the emperor), and now there is no proof.

There is no other way, only torture and torture, so I will serve you with great torture! This case has been affecting the supreme ruler of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Shunzhi has criticized it several times and instructed how to proceed with the trial. It can be seen that the Qing government attaches great importance to it. However, they have not been able to get any valuable content from Fu Qingzhu's mouth. In the end, Fu Qingzhu said that when Song Qian came to visit him, he refused and did not meet. At that time, Wei Yi'ao, Chief Secretary of Shanxi Province, happened to come to Fu Qingzhu's house to ask for a prescription for his father, so he saw it with his own eyes and can testify.

Fu Qingzhu just said it casually, but how could it actually happen? So, wouldn't it be exposed if the yamen asked Wei Yi'ao? In fact, Fu Qingzhu knew very well in his heart, he should be very clear about who his friends could be in times of crisis. Sure enough, the yamen sent people to the Chief Secretary Wei Yi'ao to inquire. After hearing this, Wei Yi'ao didn't even hesitate: "That's right, I was at Fu Qingzhu's house at that time, and I saw it with my own eyes, they didn't meet." What is a true friend?Only those who can entrust life and death together!

This matter was reported to the imperial court again. In Beijing, the emperor issued an order in August, and fifteen ministers including Ren Jun, Shangshu of the Ministry of Punishment, Gong Dingzi, Zuodu Yushi of the Metropolitan Procuratorate, and Nikan, Minister of Dali Temple, jointly tried the case (very high-level. In the end, I couldn’t come to a conclusion, and finally told the following, torture to extract a confession! When he was being tortured, Fu Qingzhu used a hunger strike to fight against him. He went on a hunger strike for nine days, which shows his unyielding will! Fu Qingzhu was arrested in June, during which he was tortured (as you can imagine, there were many tortures in the Qing Dynasty), and the torture even destroyed his health, but he never bowed his head.

He also wrote many poems in prison. In his poems, he once compared himself with an old toon tree as hard as a rock: "There is no joy in prison, and it is difficult for birds to come. Even this old toon tree is like a cast iron tree." Material. High branches, beautiful clouds and sunny days, thin and dry, capable of wind and haze. Late at night, ringing gold and stones, as steadfast as a peer." His perseverance and optimism is amazing! If we don’t know how we will behave when we encounter this situation, you can imagine that if we are captured by the Japanese devils, will we be able to withstand severe torture?

Not only is Fu Qingzhu able, but he still has the energy to give lectures to others in prison (I am convinced). When he was telling a young inmate about loyalty and filial piety, he mentioned his mother. In fact, what Fu Qingzhu was most worried about in prison was It's my old mother. My old mother is already over eighty years old. I really can't bear to let her be scared by him. But he said that loyalty and filial piety are inseparable. Presumably my mother will understand that he "has a duty to do so." Bar. So what about Fu Qingzhu's mother at this time?According to literature, the old man said to Fu Qingzhu's nephew Fu Ren: "Your second uncle, I have given up on him." At this time, the old man has no one in the family, and his son and grandson are in prison, but the old man is calm about the pain. , She said to Fu Qingzhu's friends: "A Taoist should have today's affairs, even if he dies, there is no need to save him!" It can be seen that she has already made preparations to sacrifice her son.

So, is the old man really that strong? In fact, people's hearts are all flesh, how can there be no reason not to feel sad?Others told Fu Qingzhu that his mother was actually "poor in diet, her eyes were swollen and sore with tears" and secretly "remembering her son and her grandson, she couldn't talk anymore"! After Fu Qingzhu heard this, his heart was cut like a knife, and he "shed tears in his heart". At the end of the year, since no clues could be found, Fu Qingzhu's son Fu Mei had to be released first. In his later poems, Fu Qingzhu described how Fu Mei ran all the way home: "Running to the West Village (the place where their family lives) at dusk, almost dying and grinding the ditch (almost fell into the ditch). Knock on the door to see grandma, don't believe it is you No. There is a little horse and a little rice, and the vegetables are asked from the neighbors. Tomorrow is the end of the new year (New Year’s Eve), and the porridge is cold. The old mother holds a spoon, like me to hide my shame."

It is written in the poem that after Fu Mei came home, the old grandmother couldn’t believe that he was back, and immediately took out the only rice she had, and then asked the neighbor for some food to cook for Fu Mei. Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, As a result, the grandparents and grandchildren drank some porridge in the cold room to welcome the New Year. Every time I read this poem, tears flow down my face. What a wise old man! After the interrogation was fruitless, in July of the following year, Emperor Shunzhi ordered Fu Qingzhu to be released. People at the time praised Fu Qingzhu for his "magnificence like a rainbow piercing the blue sky". After Fu Qingzhu was released from prison, he once traveled to the south. It is estimated that his purpose was to investigate how the anti-Qing struggle in the south was going, because he heard too many rumors. Today he said there was an uprising, and the day after tomorrow he said there was no , how exactly?Fu Qingzhu decided to go and see for himself. As a result of this tour, Fu Qingzhu saw that the Qing government had basically controlled the situation in the whole country, the localities had basically calmed down, and the people had started to resume production. As the saying goes, the general trend is over. This trip was a turning point in Fu Qingzhu's life. From then on, he knew that there was no hope for armed struggle, and all he could do was not to cooperate with the Qing government. After returning to Shanxi, Fu Qingzhu moved to Songzhuang at the foot of Dongshan Mountain in Taiyuan. Because he did not recognize the Manchu Qing government and believed that he was living abroad under the rule of a foreign country, he always said that he lived in Songzhuang (there was no such thing as a passport at the time. Therefore, the identity of overseas Chinese can be sealed by oneself). In the first year of his residence in Songzhuang, his mother died at the age of eighty-four.
