Chapter 103 Epilogue The stars sink to the bottom of the sea, see you at the window

Republic of China style 民国文林 1029Words 2018-03-16
This book is named, but in terms of content, it still inherits the series of my book "A Detailed Description of the Great Literati in the Republic of China".The literati and anecdotes described in the book are all collected from the memoirs, commemorative articles, private diaries, notes of the Republic of China, chronicles, biography, descriptions, inscriptions, magazines, and newspapers of the Republic of China and the present. The author considers, selects, adds and deletes , modification, classification, sorting, succession, embellishment, smelting, and merged into this book. The real courtyard is filled with herbs, and the verandah door is built with fragrance and fragrance. The main bibliography is attached at the end of the book to facilitate readers to consult the ideological pedigree of this book.

This book specially selects five famous figures in the Republic of China, namely a strange man, a pioneer, a loving monk, a talented person, and a husband. Appreciated by later generations; or the charm is flowing, swaying in the historical landscape. The five kinds of life show the five styles of the Republic of China with different shapes and spirits. The author hopes to describe the mountains, stars and seas of human nature, as well as the turbulence, darkness and self-determination of life, through an almost line-drawing method of writing. At the same time, the author also pays more attention to the habits and tastes of the five characters in their daily life, in order to reveal the authentic factors of the change of "people" who "survive" as Heidegger said.

What needs to be emphasized is that the author's deep praise for the literati of the Republic of China and the sincere tribute to the style of the Republic of China are not the same as the general affirmation of the Republic of China era.The earthquake in Haiyuan, where the death toll reached 270,000, the local government concealed the news for more than a month. It will not be a good time; due to congestion and lack of oxygen, thousands of Chongqing citizens who hid in air-raid shelters to avoid air raids died, it will not be a good time. It is a good era; it will not be a good era when nearly a thousand gentry and celebrities on the Taiping ship were killed due to overloading and failure to turn on the navigation lights. From this perspective alone, it can even be asserted that the Republic of China was the worst era.

But as Will Duran wrote in "A History of World Civilization": "Civilization is like a river with banks. The blood that flows in the river is the result of people killing each other, stealing, fighting, and these are usually the historians. What they recorded. What they didn’t notice was that on the river bank, people built homes, loved each other, raised children, sang, wrote poems, and even created sculptures.” All the efforts I want to make are to complete the A record of the lives of the people on the banks of the river. The author firmly believes that the style of the Republic of China with the condensed charm of the literati group in the Republic of China will surely be able to match the hundreds of schools of thought, the demeanor of the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and the poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties. They look up to the world and have no shame.

Looking back, every generation has its own glory and records, and our era will eventually pass away, so how will we and future generations record our era?Spain's "Le Monde" recorded this: "China's high housing prices have destroyed young people's love and imagination. They could have recited poetry, traveled together, and held book clubs. Now, young people As soon as they graduate from university, they become middle-aged people, and they spend their money carefully for daily necessities. Their lives are material and sophisticated from the beginning, and they cannot experience a romantic life, a way of life that is oriented to the soul." Concisely put into eight words is : Foreign objects disturb the mind, and the mind is completely destroyed.

At this moment, I remembered a sentence: We're all in the gutter, but there are still people looking up at the stars. Finally, I would like to dedicate this book to the centenary of Xinhai and the centenary of the Republic of China.
