Su Manshu once said that "life is burdened by love", and "passion is rushing, and it is as powerful as lightning. When worries are unrestrained, why are you afraid of being forbidden?" At the age of 13, Su Manshu learned English from the Spaniard Dr. Robert Zhuangxiang in Shanghai. When he was in Hong Kong in 1904, he hit it off with Zhuang Xiang's fifth daughter, Xuehong.Xuehong and Manshu are about the same age, and they once fell in love with Manshu, and Zhuang Xiang also wanted to betroth Manshu with his daughter. But Manshu refused on the grounds that he had become a monk.

In 1909, Su Manshu met Robert and his daughter again, who were planning to return to Spain to settle down, on a boat heading for Nanyang.Xuehong still has love for Manshu, but Manshu declines. The day before arriving in Singapore, Xuehong specially sent Manshu a bouquet of datura flowers and a volume of "Byron's Poems", with a photo of her on the title page of the collection.Manshu was deeply moved, and wrote a poem on the title page of the collection of poems: "It's already dusk on the sea in the autumn wind, and I mourn Byron alone to the posthumous editor. The poet Piaopeng Jun and I may be evoking souls from foreign lands." When they parted, the three of them burst into tears.

Afterwards, Manshu confessed his admiration for Xuehong in a letter to his friend: "I met a talented Spanish woman named Luo Bishi in the Nandu boat, and she gave me several volumes of Western poems. , and thinking about Luozi (referring to Xuehong), we must not forget Mi Ye." In 1900, when Su Manshu accompanied his adoptive mother Hehexian on vacation in Zuzi Yingshan Village, he met a girl from a neighbor’s house. The two communicated with each other through poetry and poetry through a pigeon.Once, the woman Yue Manshu met somewhere, and Manshu arrived first, but the woman could not go out because her family found out.It was raining cats and dogs all over the world, and Manshu kept his promise of hugging the pillar, huddled in the boat, and waited until dawn before leaving. In the end, the parents of both parties objected to the matter between the two, and Manshu was whipped by the tribe. After the woman knew that there was no hope of marriage, she crossed the sea and died in love. From then on, Manshu was disheartened and lost all thoughts. He returned to the country alone, and escaped into Buddhism again.

In 1902, Su Manshu fell in love with his cousin Jingzi.According to the memories of his friend Zhang Zhuoshen, Manshu and Jingzi traveled together when they were young, they were childhood sweethearts, and fell in love at first sight when they were adults.Aunt Manshu deliberately matched the two, and Jingzi also acquiesced in her life, and she would not marry unless she was Manshu.Aunt gave Manshu a diamond ring as a souvenir, and Manshu regarded it as an engagement gift. However, when Manshu visited the famous Taoist mountains, he wandered around, his whereabouts were uncertain, and because he was ordained as a monk, it was inconvenient to talk about marriage, so the marriage was repeatedly delayed, and finally Jingzi died of depression.Every time Manshu thinks of this, he feels regretful and heartbroken. No matter how poor he was in the future, even if he pawned all his clothes, he would never be willing to sell the diamond ring given by his aunt. He often said: "This is a poor souvenir."

Liu Chengyu records that Su Manshu's father once arranged a marriage for him. The daughter's family is a wealthy family, and the woman is virtuous and talented. After Su's father passed away, the news of the two families was cut off.A few years later, Manshu was selling flowers in Guangzhou to raise funds for the eastward trip. He happened to pass by the girl's house, was recognized by the maid, and then met his fiancée.Manshu covered his face with a bamboo hat, weeping about the changes in the family, asking his fiancée to find another husband, the fiancée also burst into tears, vowed to be chaste and wait for Manshu, and presented him with the jasper she was wearing.Manshu sold the jade pendant and went east to Japan. When he returned to China in the future, he learned that his fiancée had passed away due to illness, and he was deeply saddened. Before his death, Manshu wrote a letter to Hu Zhantang in Guangzhou, asking him to hand over a piece of paper in the letter to Xiao Renqiu, on which only a chicken heart was drawn, with the words "No chicken heart type" written next to it.Everyone was puzzled, Xiao explained: "Monk Su will never be able to afford it, so how can I ask you to buy a piece of jasper and bring it to see his unmarried wife in the underground." So he bought a piece of jasper and asked someone to take it back to Shanghai. At this time, Manshu was on the verge of death, without food and drink for three days, and lay with his eyes closed. The nurse told Guangzhou to bring Biyu, Manshu opened his eyes, asked the nurse to help him kiss Biyu, and died happily.

In 1908, Su Manshu met Fuko Baisuke, a Japanese geisha playing the zither.Manshu wrote a lot of poems for her, and sent her photos to friends Liu Jiping, Deng Qiumei, Cai Zhefu and others. When Baizhu wanted to get married with Manshu, Manshu refused on the grounds of Phidu. But when he learned that Baizhu was going to leave, Manshu was extremely sad, and went to Kanda to find Chen Duxiu to express his sorrow, and they sang together and wrote ten poems each. The ten poems written by Manshu are his famous "Poems of Ingenuity", in which there is a saying: "Jasper doesn't worry about his humble background, and the fairies from the same village are alone in ecstasy. The cassock is dotted with suspicious cherry petals, half fat stains and half tear stains."

In August of that year, Su Manshu returned to Shanghai from Japan, with friends Chen Duxiu and Deng Yizhe on the same boat.Once, when Manshu mentioned his Japanese girlfriend, Chen and Deng deliberately said they didn't believe it.Manshu walked into the cabin in desperation, and showed them all kinds of women's hair accessories, and then suddenly threw them all into the sea, turning around and crying bitterly.Chen Duxiu once recorded it in a poem, saying: "The body accompanies the ship to the dynasties, and the soul returns to the east boat at night. Clean up the leisure and sink into the passing water, and the new moon is so crooked."

In order to escape from love, Su Manshu vowed to go to India, the hometown of Buddha, to drink the water of the Ganges River. However, when passing through Ceylon, because she couldn't help herself to Pei Shan, a Chinese woman, she felt that her six roots were unclean, and she was ashamed of the Buddha, so she gave up halfway and returned home quietly. Su Manshu used to live in Zheng's home, and Juzheng asked him to teach his daughter English.Once, Manshu came back from a full meal at a friend's place and was very sleepy. The girl came to ask him to teach him how to read English.Manshu has a submissive personality and did not directly refuse, but said sleepily, "I'm sleepy, so I can't teach you." The girl insisted on letting him teach, so Manshu had to get up and read.Unexpectedly, before he finished reading, tears started streaming down his face. It turned out that he recalled his own sad things. After Juzheng found out, he lamented that Manshu was really sad, so he no longer forced him to teach.

Shao Yuanchong recalled: "One morning, Manshu didn't come out for a long time. When I entered the room and looked at it, I hugged the quilt and shed tears, the quilt was completely wet, and there was a strand of crimson gauze beside the pillow, and the fragrance still hit people again. I know Geng's sense of touch and comfort. It’s been a long time, but I’m still weeping from the snow. It’s been a long day since everyone is unhappy.” Shen Yanmou once lived in the same room with Su Manshu for August and September, and often saw Manshu go through a small suitcase, which contained various and scattered writings.Every time I read it, I boo endlessly, and when I see someone spying on it, I rush to collect it.Shen Occasionally asked Manshu for contemplation, and he said, "No foot contemplation, no foot contemplation."

It is rumored that before Su Manshu died of illness, he kept a leather bag in a hotel in Hongkou, Shanghai. After Manshu's death, no one knew the name of the hotel, so there was no way to find the bag.It is said that most of the bags are souvenirs of Manshu, including a handkerchief, a gift from his lover, with traces of his lover's tears on it. Su Manshu once said: "The essence of Buddhism can't destroy a word of love, and can't get rid of a word of predestined relationship. In the world, if there is a day of perception, there will be a day of love, and if there is a day of love, there will be a day of fate. Love is not dead, how can you stop it?" I don’t want to be a peerless beauty?”
