It all started years ago when I called the information desk and asked for the address of the Beverly Hills Public Library. "Sorry," the operator said, "we don't provide address information." I figured she must be joking, "I'm not asking for CIA headquarters, I'm asking for the address of the public library." "Sorry, we don't provide address information." I find this unbelievable.But I don't want to miss out on such a big challenge.I made up my mind to get this address out of their mouths. After a while, I called the information desk again. "I want the number for the Beverly Hills Public Library," I said, "on Beverly Boulevard." On the other end of the line, the operator said, "We don't have a number for the Beverly Avenue Public Library. There's one on North Crescent Avenue." "It doesn't seem right," I said, "where exactly is it located on North Crescent Avenue?" "450 North Crescent Avenue, City Hall." "Thank you." I've got the information I need. Since then, every time I've tried to look up the address of a place, I've done the same thing, outwitting that silly phone company rule. But on the night of October 14th, my wishful thinking came to nothing.After hearing Joya's loud shout, I rushed into the bedroom. "It's going to be born," she said. "Hurry up!" Her bag had already been packed and was waiting at the door.I've also made arrangements to take her to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica.The problem is that I'm not sure which street the hospital is on.I called the information desk. "I want the number of St. John's Hospital on Main Street." I gave a street name at random, and the other party would tell me the exact address anyway. Soon the operator gave me the phone number. We have a healthy, beautiful baby.Such joy is indescribable.Soon after Mary was born, Joa and I asked Groucho to be her godfather.He agreed, we were all very happy, there was no one better suited than him. Three days later, we returned home with Mary.Laura, the maid, took Mary from Joa. "I'll take care of her," she said. Since then, the baby has become the center of the family.In the middle of the night, Mary was crying, and Joya rushed into her room and saw me sitting on a chair with Mary in my arms.Or I heard the baby cry and rushed into her room to find Joa sitting there rocking the cradle.No matter day or night, as long as she moves, we will rush to hug her.After picking her up, she stopped crying.
