I didn't plan to cross the Qiqiong River.现在，黎笋集团向全世界宣传我军没有占领谅山，好像我军无力攻克谅山。在这种情况下，我军应当攻克南市区，戳穿越军纸老虎原形，只有这样才能实现军委自卫还击的意图。他想到总部原来有指示，不准我军过奇穷河，如果现在要过奇穷河，就必须请示军委批准才能行动。 事也凑巧，正在这时，军委发来了“争取自卫还击作战的更大胜利”的指示。许世友看过指示后，感到自己的想法正合总部意图，于是他告诉司令部：“通知东集团，准备打过奇穷河。司令部迅速拟制打过奇穷河的作战计划。” 司令部根据这个指示连夜拟定计划，通知各参战单位勘察渡河点，准备渡河器材，通知炮兵向前推进，准备支援步兵、坦克的火力计划，通知后勤补充弹药。3月3日各部队进行了直接战斗准备，并把准备情况报告了司令部。夜间将部分坦克和直瞄火炮推到奇穷河北岸占领阵地。 许世友看了司令部拟的作战计划，想了想后说：这个计划可行，以命令的形式发给部队执行，各单位奋勇前进，打过奇穷河，夺占南市区，占领南市区以南一线高地，向南再进5公里，造成对河内威逼的态势，撕下黎笋集团的遮羞布，实现军委首长的意图。 4日6时50分，许世友来到指挥所，指挥东集团进行炮火袭击，指挥步兵、坦克打过奇穷河。他首先询问了炮兵部队的准备情况，询问了敌人前线的变化，纵深内敌人的动向，有没有反击的征兆，敌人的战略预备队是否移动了位置。当他得知敌人没什么新动向，仍然是防御态势，似乎在等待着时来运转后，要东集团的炮兵对谅山南市区、奇穷河南岸的敌占个要点、敌人的兵营、敌人的指挥所进行炮火袭击，狠狠地打那些狗日的，看老子能不能打下谅山！ 东集团指挥所接令后立即发出炮火袭击的信号。刹时间奇穷河北岸的火炮阵地上咚咚咚咚地响个不停，一群一群的炮弹，飞过奇穷河上空，落在敌人的阵地上、兵营中。火光闪闪，炮声隆隆，浓烟滚滚。北岸的坦克部队正在对南岸的火力点直接瞄准射击，并准备渡过奇穷河，伴随步兵冲击。直瞄火炮在对敌强固工事进行破坏射击。重机枪时而向南岸敌人扫射，打击敌人的散兵，时而点射封锁敌人火力点的射孔。各步兵连队，有的占领桥头准备过桥，有的卧倒在奇穷河北岸边准备徒涉，有的在纵深内拉大距离原地休息，他们是第二梯队。指挥员们都进入了临时构筑的指挥所中，有的用望远镜观察战场，有的打电话向下级交待注意事项。看来已是万事俱备，只欠东风了。 许世友得知炮火袭击敌人的效果良好，感到满意，了解到步兵、坦克部队准备的情况也比较充分，态度严肃地说：告诉东集团命令部队打过奇穷河，夺取南市区，攻占奇穷河南岸的敌占要点，继续向河内前进。 东集团接到指示后，立即发出强渡奇穷河的号令。只见奇穷河北岸的英雄们组成7支突击队，象7支利剑，直插南市区和南岸敌占高地。 7点整，在恢复至棍杂地段上，展开了强渡奇穷河、攻击南市区的战斗。凭祥旅89团2营主力从谅山大铁桥，6连从水面下桥全部通过奇穷河。7点40分，4连攻占南市区越军营房，6连攻占疗养院，5连攻占火车站。3营紧随2营后前进，在通过大桥时，遭飞机场、文庙高地、428高地、391高地之敌高射炮、高射机枪和纵深炮火的火力封锁。旅炮兵群、团直瞄火炮对上述要点实施火力压制，掩护3营迅速通过大桥，超越2营的战斗队形队向391高地、428高地发起冲击。9时15分，9连在7连的协同下，攻占了391高地，毙敌71名。8连在7连的配合下，以一部兵力正面牵制，主力从东西翼实施迂回。10时25分，攻占了428高地，毙敌48名。10点05分，6连攻占了文庙高地，毙敌23名，余敌向伯蒙方向逃窜。 中午12点多，7连在8连一部协同下，攻占了465高地。16时10分，2营6连攻占了伯蒙，4连攻占了弄昆及其附近个要点。 从昆八大桥过奇穷河的是宁明旅44团2营。7点40分，5连1排在营、连火力掩护下，首先徒涉过河，抢占可以控制昆八大桥的317高地。4连1排借助5连对桥南侧两个小高地之敌的火力压制，通过昆八铁路大桥，抢占了1、2号高地，控制了大桥，掩护主力渡河。 4连过河后，向7号高地进攻，遭到敌4个暗火力点的突然射击，2排长和5班长中弹牺牲，另有7人负伤，进攻受阻。连长迅速组织火力摧毁了这4个火力点，以小群多路，迂回攻击，先后攻占了5、6、7、9、11号高地，继续向8号高地发展进攻。 4连3排刚刚占领10号高地，即发现西南约800米处敌坦克3辆引导步兵约1个排向10号高地反扑，经10几分钟激战，击毁敌坦克1辆，毙敌5名。 5连发展顺利，10点钟攻占了8号高地。营据此集中兵力，迅速攻占332高地。5连转为主攻，4连坚守既得阵地，将6连投入战斗，协同5连围歼332高地之敌。 10点20分，5连预备队3排加入战斗。2、3排由东西两侧向332高地攻击。2排的火箭筒手以准确的火力摧毁了北侧的两个火力点。敌人慑于我军的勇猛攻势，丢械仓皇逃跑。战士们迅速冲上高地，以火力进行追歼，又炸毁了1辆装甲车和1辆履带牵引车。 在382高地的6连2排和4具火箭筒刚刚到达10号高地，敌3辆坦克正在向4连疯狂射击。敌人打了一阵不见还击，知道4连没有办法对付坦克，更加猖狂了。正在这时，6连火箭筒手前出到距离敌坦克约170米处，击毁敌坦克1辆，其余两辆慌忙调转屁股，喷着一溜黑烟向南逃跑了。 在恢复以西地段打过奇穷河的是浦寨旅93团1、3营。经反复争夺，他们于5日14时40分占领了627高地，靠崩西北侧无名高地和413高地。 在扁福过奇穷河的80团，攻击目标是迷迈山，位于谅山市东南4～5公里，主峰海拔480米，为高300米左右的群山所环抱。南与扣瓦山相连接，两山之间有一条从谅山通往河内的简易公路，北有奇穷河天然屏障，易守难攻，构成谅山东南的一道屏障，是越军奇穷河以南的一个防御要点。我军攻占了迷迈山，就能形成进逼河内的态势。 先头团侦察排和工兵排于7点钟赶到骄新，沿大路向扁福搜索前进。原不知该地有敌防守，下了公路，在村北与敌巡逻的一个加强班遭遇。因浓雾弥漫，敌将我误作其特工人员，发问口令。听到敌人的叫唤声，侦察排迅速占领大路两侧有利地形，先敌开火，毙敌4名。 2连赶到此地。扁福之敌遭我2连、侦察排攻击，被击毙15名，残敌过河逃往棍杂。2连夺占了扁福，控制了河北岸有利地形，此时，营主力进至扁福北侧集结。团长何善福率领团指挥所人员随2营之后进至扁福北侧无名高地开设指挥所。团首长根据2连的渡河情况，分析了敌情、地形，决定由2连在敌防御严密、火力较强的棍杂正面佯攻，并造成强渡的假象，迷惑、牵制敌人，1、3连迂回到敌防御薄弱的翼侧担双地段渡河。 全营过河后，各连向敌纵深发展进攻。1连攻占了担双南侧无名高地，以火力摧毁7个火力点，毙敌17名。1、3连攻占了崩毛西北侧无名高地。2连消灭了棍杂残敌后，控制了扁福渡口南岸1公里纵深内的诸要点。 3营随1营后跟进，8连首先过河，攻占了吨来西侧和南侧无名高地，营主力也于19时10分全部到了河南岸。80团在渡河战斗中，共毙敌147名。当晚，1营在担双南侧、3营在吨来西南侧，团指和2营在扁福及其以北高地暂时组织防御，准备继续进攻。 当天晚上，80团接到上级的指令，4日12时前打下迷迈山。团考虑到1营连续作战，比较疲劳，决定以2营担任主攻，3营担任助攻，1营为预备队。不惜一切代价勇猛穿插，首先攻占迷迈山，尔后向两翼卷击，全歼守敌。 4日4时05分，浓雾密布，天正下着雨。2营从扁福北侧无名高地向渡场开进，由于没有辨准方位，走错了路，到了攻击时间仍没有全部渡河。团长当机立断，由1营接替2营主攻，2营为预备队。1营的进攻出发阵地距离迷迈山为3.5公里，这之间全是小山包。如果采取逐步攻击的战法，很难在规定的时间内完成任务。团指即令1营3连和3营9连实施穿插，主力随后跟进，两个营利用浓雾并肩向迷迈山猛插。3连避开班茂守敌，隐蔽地渡过玻令河，直插迷迈山南侧。9连在班茂东北侧与少数敌人遭遇，先敌开火，毙敌4名，正欲渡河时，又遭敌班茂以北无名高地之敌射击。团指示该连不要恋战，不要怕敌侧射，不惜一切代价迅速插到迷迈山。9连遂以一个排牵制敌人，主力迅速绕道班茂西侧渡过玻令河，从班茂西北侧无名高地敌防御间隙通过。 9点50分，1、3营插至迷迈山下，在上级9个炮营的炮火急袭后，对迷迈山主峰发起了冲击。 9连连长观察到主峰之敌以一部兵力向东北侧无名高地运动，主峰东南侧地形比较隐蔽。于是率领1、3排从东南侧向主峰发起攻击，因敌火猛烈，3排3次冲击均未奏效。连长即组织轻、重机枪火力压制敌人，同时用3排和3班交替掩护，向敌攻击。7班巧妙地利用地形隐蔽接敌，首先冲上主峰，占领了有利地形，掩护连主力一举突入阵地。 9连主力于11时05分控制了迷迈山主峰，歼敌155团6营营部和9连，击毙敌上尉副营长，提前完成了上级赋予的任务。 许世友司令员听到这段战斗报告后说：80团首长决心正确，部队打得勇猛，应当表扬。在单独的方向上，打得这样就很不容易了。 主峰的战斗结束了，主峰下的抗外和班茂的战斗正酣。 80团以穿插战术攻上了迷迈山主峰，但山下还有守敌3个连在与我1营激战，一直打到下午5时还未结束，团指又把预备队2营主力拉上去，只留下一个连作为预备队。 4日和5日两天，80团以歼敌450余名的战果胜利完成了围歼迷迈山之敌的战斗任务。 谅山之战，在许世友指挥下，以敌败我胜宣告结束。这是广西战区对越自卫还击作战的“压台戏”。这一战，共歼灭敌人两个步兵团、一个炮兵团和一个公安团。被越军吹嘘为“不可逾越的要塞”，不可一世的越军“王牌”第3师，在我军铁拳之下，统统现出了纸老虎的原型，在其战史上记下了不光彩的一页。 许世友司令员说：我们夺取谅山全市区，打过奇穷河，又向河内前进5公里，造成威逼河内之势，这也是黎笋集团逼出来的，不如此，越军不会认输，也不足以教训野心勃勃的黎笋集团。 他接着说：过去，我国政府作过很多次劝说工作，提出过很多改善关系的措施和建议，黎笋集团听不进去，总认为我们软弱可欺，他们的反华行动变本加厉，猖狂至极。我们不想打到河内去，只是用有限的军事行动警告黎笋集团。但愿这种威逼行动是最后一次，但愿中越两国的边界冲突缓和下来，但愿中越边界和平安定。
