Chapter 42 Notebook Princess, produced the "White Paper on the Practice of Great National Agreements"

At the end of 2004, for the negotiation of the four major bills, representatives of the four parties gathered together. At that time, I always insisted on the principle of not giving up.I have long expected that our opinions are very different from those of the ruling party, and we will definitely be criticized by complaints.Unexpectedly, I got a new nickname that day - Notebook Princess. When negotiating, I recorded all the flexible parts and uncompromising parts that the party experts reached a consensus after full discussion in the notebook, and abided by the final bottom line written in the notebook. So the ruling party used this to attack me and said: "Park Geun-hye is holding a 'horror notebook' that cannot be negotiated, and she only acts according to what is said in the notebook."

After the nickname "Notebook Princess" was reported by the media, people who supported me said excitedly, "This is a personal attack", "suppresses women", and "slandered the presidential candidate", but I didn't take it personally.I should say, I don't think the nickname "notebook princess" sounds too bad. According to the ruling party, the "Notebook of Terror" is to guard the "Notebook of Faith" and "Notebook of Principles" that are believed to be correct values. In other words, the "Notebook Princess" is a "female politician who sticks to her beliefs and principles."However, the main reason I laugh when I hear the nickname "notebook princess" is pride in what I use my notebook for.

When I was a kid, my parents, especially my father, always carried a notebook with them.Whether it is the words of the staff or the demands of the people, my father will write them all down, and whenever he has time, he will read them and think about the countermeasures.Even when he was lying in bed after going to bed, he would get up and light the lamp and record the thoughts in his notebook. The same is true for my mother. When she visits people's livelihood sites across the country, she will definitely record the opinions or complaints she hears in her notebook, instruct specific personnel to improve, and track the follow-up situation. My mother thinks that words and memories will be forgotten, but things recorded in words will be preserved even after a hundred years.Maybe it's because I saw my parents doing this since I was a child, and I have always maintained the habit of taking notes frequently.

The agreement with the people cannot be missed, so my notes are never ending.
During my tenure as a party representative, I visited more than 155 people's livelihood sites such as the labor market, single-parent families, finding missing children, facilities for the disabled, traditional markets, farming and fishing villages, and pilot schools.Politics must be with the people.Going to the place where the people are and using their eyes and ears to know the real problem is an important task that politicians should do well.So I have been trying my best to visit everywhere and listen to the voices of the people.Of course, my little notebook has become a "commitment notebook", following me to actually visit the people's livelihood scene.

After actually visiting people's livelihood sites, I used to quickly record them in my notebook on the return trip.In particular, the content promised to help on the spot, no matter how small the matter, is also recorded in the "agreement notebook" one by one, and the progress is often tracked. As a notebook princess who carries the dreaded "Promise Notebook" with her, the hard work of her assistants and the staff of the Grand National Party Office can be imagined. "How is the promise to the flower crab fishermen on the west coast going? Didn't we promise to lighten their child-rearing burden that day?"

When I opened my notebook and asked questions one by one, the party officials around me would always frown. How could it not?In order to abide by an agreement, a bill must be proposed; if it is to be reflected in the budget, it needs to go through countless debates and bear great work pressure, and it cannot be reached without multiple procedures and approvals.I am very aware of and grateful for the hard work of the relevant staff working everywhere for this, but I can still only be a bad boss who supervises. In order for the agreement in the notebook to be fully realized, all of this is inevitable.

For the first time in the political history of our country, the "White Paper on the Practice of the Grand National Agreement" was born in March 2006, thanks to the efforts of my assistants and staff. While not getting a lot of media attention, I think this book is the beginning of a new politics, the politics of life. This book records in detail the promises I made with the people in the general election of the National Assembly, local election political opinions, and people's livelihood site visits in the past, how many promises I have kept, the progress stage, what things have not been implemented, and why they have not been implemented The reasons for this book are more than 300 pages long, and the hard work of the people who made this book is hard to describe in words.

"What about the budget for the Yahai Bridge and the New Millennium Bridge?" "is that one……" I trouble them like this every day, and they are always running around in order to grasp the agreement and the progress of the practice. Some members of the National Assembly read the book and even said, "People who want to elect the president should look farther, LPG special tax, childcare budget, and bridge construction projects along the coast of Jeollanam-do, why spend energy on these trivial details? "My opinion is different. What is really needed in national life is not great politics, or sweet promises that cannot be kept in order to attract popularity.I think that even if the beneficiary is very small and the media does not pay much attention to the small agreement, as a politician, one should hold a responsible attitude to the end.

"The book is here!" The "White Paper on the Practice of Great Citizens' Promise" that has just been printed by the printing house has arrived. The Grand National Party has complied with 40% of the agreement, and the remaining 60% is something that is still being pursued or delayed due to the inability to obtain the cooperation of the ruling party. After reading this white paper, I thought to myself, I must continue to practice 100% until the day.It is a pity that the media did not pay much attention to this book, and many people even did not know the existence of this book. But I think that as long as the political parties and politicians in the Republic of Korea should have similar white papers, and make unremitting efforts to implement the agreement, I believe that this will definitely realize the real "life politics" for the people.
