Gao Gang 张思铨 2367Words 2018-03-16
Comrade Zhang Siquan wrote the documentary biographies "Gao Gang in the Northwest and Northeast" and "Gao Gang in Beijing" in more than ten years, which truly recorded the great transition process of the Communist Party of China growing into the ruling party, and vividly described the anti-Japanese war in Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia. Many unknown historical facts about the model base of democracy, the Northeast Liberation War base, economic construction and the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China are full of emotion after reading, as if returning to the difficult and hopeful era of the Yan'an period; The joy of victory and the gratification of thriving economic construction enjoyed during the difficult years of consolidating the base areas and the iron-blooded war of liberation. These two books reflect from one aspect the history of the Communist Party of China's glorious victories in the ups and downs of building the party, building the government, building the army, and economic construction. This is the first thing I thought of after reading it.

We will always miss the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Revolutionary Base, which is the "foothold" and "starting point" of the Party Central Committee and the Central Red Army.Chairman Mao said in his speech at the Second Party Congress of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region: "Comrade Gao Gang made great contributions to the Central Red Army and the Anti-Japanese War. This kind of contribution coexists with the history of our party and our army."He said at the preparatory meeting of the "Seventh National Congress": "The Seventh National Congress is held in northern Shaanxi. This is the glory of the northern Shaanxi people. Northern Shaanxi has become a test area for all our work. All our work will be tested here first."Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region paved the way for the establishment of New China. Politics pushed to high ground. On the occasion of commemorating the 60th anniversary of the "Seventh National Congress", I wrote an article "Gao Gang and the Seventh National Congress" for the Central Party History Research Office: "The Yan'an period marked the transformation of our party in terms of ideology, theory and organization. It is a great period for the ruling party, and it is also a great period for our party to turn the crisis into peace. The Yan'an spirit formed through the Yan'an rectification movement and the mass production movement is the spiritual force that guides the Chinese revolution from victory to victory." I also proposed: "Research on the history of the Communist Party of China It cannot be separated from the study of the Yan'an period, the history of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and the study of Comrade Gao Gang. This is the attitude of historical materialism. On the contrary, it is subjectivism, dogmatism, and sectarianism. attitude; it can only make this great history pale; it can only turn the Yan'an spirit into an empty slogan."

We will never forget the history of creating and liberating wars, economic construction, and brilliant achievements in the Northeast base area, because it blew the clarion call to overthrow the Jiang family dynasty and opened a grand chapter in the establishment of a new China. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Comrade Gao Gang asked to work in the Northeast. He served as the commander of the North Manchurian Military Region. Under this circumstance, the People's Liberation Army took only three years to monopolize the Northeast. After the liberation of the entire Northeast, Gao Gang presided over the party, government and military work in the Northeast, and turned the party's central task to the economic construction of the new Northeast, making the Northeast a rear base for national liberation. On the eve of the birth of New China in 1949, Comrade Mao Zedong confessed to Comrade Gao Gang: You have been elected (Vice Chairman) and are still working in the Northeast. The Northeast is very important to our nascent republic. "Build the Northeast into a model area like the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and build a national industrial base. Build the Northeast well, support the customs, and support the whole country. In this way, the game of chess across the country will come alive."Comrade Gao Gang shouldered the great trust of Chairman Mao and concentrated his energy on the economy, especially industrial construction. In the mess of waste waiting to be built, by 1951, the industrial output value reached the highest level in 1943 during the Japanese puppet period. In 1952, large-scale economic construction began. It created a "experimental field" for economic construction, which provided a reference for the first year of large-scale economic construction across the country in 1953.

In 1950, at the Third Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, when Mao Zedong summed up the achievements of the Northeast Economic Front, he emphasized that "the inside of the pass should learn from the outside of the pass, and ask Gao Gang and others for advice." Strive for a basic improvement in the country's financial and economic situation" report. U.S. imperialism launched a war of aggression against Korea to provoke new China.Comrade Gao Gang supported Chairman Mao's wise decision to send troops to North Korea, and was fully responsible for the logistical support of the Volunteers. The Northeast became the main rear base to resist US aggression and aid Korea. He personally went to the front line of North Korea to understand the logistics supply situation, assisted President Peng in planning the deployment of the campaign, studied and solved the problem of unified command of the Chinese and North Korean armies, actively organized manpower and material transportation to the front line, defeated the American ambition wolf, and won the victory of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea.

In the autumn of 1952, Comrade Gao Gang was transferred to work at the central government. He concentrated on economic construction, prepared to establish the State Planning Commission, formulated the first five-year plan, and launched large-scale economic construction. He was praised by Chairman Mao: "One horse takes the lead, four horses gallop forward."He told Jiang Qing that Gao Gang is "a capable leader who strengthens the work of the Central Committee. He is like a manly general who works on socialism." According to China's national conditions, the "First Five-Year Plan" he compiled was successful, and the results were implemented one year in advance. In 1956 (56 years), the task was completed and the foundation for the special industrialization of the national economy was laid. Most of the state-owned enterprises established at that time are still creating wealth for the country.

Covering the book and thinking about it, the figure of Comrade Gao Gang running around the factories, mines, countryside, army, schools and institutions to investigate and research and guide the work often lingers in his mind. as before. Chairman Mao and Comrade Liu Shaoqi had disagreements on some ideas and work. Gao Gang supported Mao Zedong Thought and was dissatisfied with Comrade Liu Shaoqi, thinking that he was "not very stable" and "would not be at ease relying on him to steer the helm." In the autumn and winter of 1953, he discussed Liu Shaoqi's mistakes in private with individual high-ranking cadres, spread some remarks that were not conducive to unity, violated the party's organizational discipline, and was criticized at the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the party.Later, at the symposium on the Gao Gang issue, he suffered more serious attacks and struggles. He was charged with several crimes and placed under house arrest for a long time.He did not fall in the enemy's hail of bullets, but fell crashingly in the inner-party struggle.Recalling this tragic past, I can't help but burst into tears.

I remember that after the Third Plenary Session, I went to Comrade Hu Yaobang’s home to rehabilitate Gao Gang. Before I could speak, he said, “Gao Gang is an issue within the Party, not against the Party or Chairman Mao. Organize investigations and study redress." "He has made great contributions to the revolution. In the past, the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao praised him many times, and let everyone learn from him." Comrade Zhang Siquan further revised the original two books and planned to combine them into one for reprint. He asked me, a witness close to Comrade Gao Gang, to write the preface, and I readily agreed to write the above words.Comrade Zhang Siquan took the lead, and I believe that there will be more party history researchers picking up pearls from the sea, facing up to history in a fair, scientific and realistic way, so as to further carry forward the glorious tradition and style of the party.

I have been ninety-one, fifty-seven years of ups and downs, and I will never forget the good style of holding high the banner of democratic politics and seeking truth from facts during the Yan'an period, let alone what the people in the yellow land in northern Shaanxi and the black land in northeast China have made for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people. His epic and great contribution.Only by realistically recreating the historical truth can we feel the value of today, let the history of the Republic always remember those difficult and great journeys, and let the heroes and role models of our party and our army live in the hearts of the people!
