People often describe the shortness of life as "the sun and the moon fly quickly", "a white horse flies through the gap", and "a flick of a finger" to describe the shortness of life, but they often don't feel this way when they are young.Yesterday, I was still called a "Young Writer" and "Rookie in the Literary World". Suddenly, I received a call from the Shanghai Writers Association, saying that it was going to celebrate my 70th birthday. list. At this time, Mr. Xu Jiuwen, the vice president of Hunan People's Publishing House, and Mr. Li Zhenzhi, the editor, flew to Shanghai from Changsha to discuss with me the publication of Ye Yonglie's Collected Works.I didn't have much contact with Hunan People's Publishing House at first, only in November 1980, the book "Spy Shadow of Bidao" was published by the press (it was later translated into French and published in Paris), and there was no contact since then.It was a bit of a surprise that they were going to publish a collection of my essays. From the conversation between the two of them, I learned that they came prepared. They "followed" me for many years and read a lot of my works, so they decided to publish my anthology.

I was very moved by the sincerity of Hunan People's Publishing House.I was very welcome right away.I hope to review my 60-year creative history (I published my first work when I was 11 years old) with the help of the published anthology; The quality and updated appearance are dedicated to the readers. However, I also truthfully and frankly tell you that due to the large number of words in my anthology and the voluminous volume, it is not easy to publish. I remember that after the 5-volume "Ye Yonglie Self-Selected Works" was published by Writers Publishing House in 1993, there were two publishers who planned to publish my anthology, but they both gave up halfway:

First, the People’s Daily Publishing House published “Ye Yonglie’s Collected Works” in 1999, with a total of 50 volumes and 17 million words. I have already submitted all the manuscripts, but after publishing 13 volumes, it has not been published; In 2000, Xinjiang People's Publishing House took over and continued to publish "Ye Yonglie's Collected Works" that had not yet been published by People's Daily Publishing House. It published 15 volumes, but it was still abandoned halfway and could not be published. In the following 10 years, I created many new works.Although I don't know the exact total word count of the work, there is no doubt that it has more than 20 million words and 60 volumes.Nothing more than three.I hope that the third publication of "Ye Yonglie's Collected Works" will no longer be anticlimactic, but that it will be completed from beginning to end, and that it will be published well.

The large number of my works is due to five reasons: One is that I "debuted early".I wrote my first book at the age of 19, became the main author of "One Hundred Thousand Whys" at the age of 20, and wrote "PHS Roaming the Future" at the age of 21. The total print run of "One Hundred Thousand Whys" so far has reached 210 million copies. "Little Smart's Roaming in the Future" has printed more than 3 million copies. The number of "Little Smart" mobile phone users authorized by me and named after "Little Smart: Roaming the Future" has also reached 100 million. So some friends joked that when I was 20 or 21 years old, I became a "300 million" spiritual rich man.

The second is that I engaged in professional creation early. In January and March 1979, Fang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, gave two instructions because he was concerned about my creation. In this way, I left the heavy-duty directorship in 1980 and was transferred to the Shanghai Science and Technology Department. As a nominal member of the Standing Committee, the association is actually engaged in professional creation. In 1987, I was transferred to the Shanghai Writers Association and became a professional writer until I retired in 2000.After I retired, I didn’t feel like I was retired, and I was still immersed in my writing as if I was a professional writer, so I have 30 years of professional writing.

The third is that I used a computer to write early.I was one of the first batch of Chinese writers who "changed their pens". I started writing with a computer in 1992.Computers have greatly improved writing efficiency and reduced the labor intensity of writing. In fact, when I write with a pen, most of the drafts are completed at one time. Even the novels written for "People's Literature" and magazines are completed in one draft. After writing with a computer, it is even more powerful, and the writing speed is faster. The fourth is my "desperate Saburo" temper. After engaging in professional creation, I have lived a "5+2" and "white+black" life for 30 years. The so-called "5+2" means that in addition to 5 working days a week, I also write on Saturdays and Sundays. The so-called "white + black" means day plus night.I'm used to getting up at 6:30 in the morning and going to work.In the evenings, except for watching the news on TV, I spend most of my time writing.Throughout the year, except for business trips, interviews, and travel, I write "round the clock".

Fifth, the family is harmonious and the wife supports it.My wife "contracted" all the housework, so that I could devote myself to writing without any worries. My wife is also the first reader and reviewer of my works, and also a careful proofreader. She often helps me input some materials and quotations into the computer, or input the handwritten works before 1992 into the computer. What makes me sad is that after graduating from Peking University in 1963, until 1978, a full 15 years were wasted by the "socialist education movement", the "Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution" and the "May 7th Cadre School".This is exactly the golden period of my life from the prime of life from the age of 23 to the age of 38.If those 15 years are used for professional writing, more than 10 million words can be written. This is the greatest waste of time, waste of life. What's more, the endless surge of ultra-left thoughts in China caused great ideological confusion, so that I had to spend a lot of energy to rectify the chaos, and finally walked on the track of truth.

I regard creation as life and works as "frozen time".What is written with a pen cannot be cut with an axe.Since I published my first work at the age of 11, I can be said to be "single-minded" all my life, and I have only engaged in one career, that is, literary creation. In fact, there are two periods when I don't have to write at all: One is during the "Cultural Revolution" period, apart from sending 50 sample books when the book was published, there was no manuscript fee.In those years, I worked in the countryside during the day, or made "cinder blocks" and dug air-raid shelters in the film factory, and wrote quietly like "underground work" at night. I actually published 10 science popularizations, fairy tales, etc. ", and I have written a large number of manuscripts, which are pressed in my drawer or the editor's drawer of the publishing house. Therefore, after smashing the "Gang of Four", my works gushed out like a fountain. In 1978, I once created "Moonrise One book" record.

The second is that now, my two sons are both successful in their careers, and I own a batch of intellectual property rights. Many people advise me not to write any more.I still keep writing.I have been invited to attend the National Book Fair 12 times, and I have also attended the Beijing Book Fair, Shanghai Book Fair, and Yangcheng Book Fair many times. It is because I have continuously released influential new books that the publishing house uses the book fair to "build momentum" by holding new book launch ceremonies or book signings. Among Chinese writers, I am a very different one.In addition to the large number of my works, they also have a variety of genres.I am a person with a wide range of writing interests. I wrote poetry in my early years, and later wrote novels, prose, fairy tales, fables, movie scripts, essays, reviews, and even cross talk, allegro, and lyrics, and finally positioned as documentary literature on major contemporary political themes.

I am one of the few Chinese writers with a background in science and engineering.I studied chemistry at Peking University for 6 years, but after graduation, I "betrayed" chemistry and engaged in film and literary creation.Because I have a background in science, I wrote popular science and science fiction works such as "One Hundred Thousand Whys" and "PHS Roaming the Future" in the early years; after that, I turned to reportage and documentary literature, and carried out "big themes, high-level, first-hand works". ", wrote the 1.5 million-word "Red Trilogy" from the birth of the Communist Party of China to the birth of the People's Republic of China, wrote a panoramic documentary about 1957, and wrote the 1.82 million-word long volume "The Rise and Fall of the Gang of Four", Wrote a long documentary about the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China "Deng Xiaoping Changed China" and so on; as my two sons settled in Taiwan and the United States respectively, I went to Taiwan 5 times and the United States 7 times, and started a worldwide Roaming, traveled all over the five continents, took hundreds of thousands of photos, and wrote more than 20 "walking literature" works with rich pictures and texts, describing exotic customs from the perspective of history and culture, such as "America Freedom", "Under the Stars and Stripes" Life", "Japan Under the Cherry Blossoms", "Real North Korea", "Free Travel in Europe", "Free Travel in Australia", "Half Desert and Half Sea-Egypt and Dubai" and "Mainland Foot Tour Taiwan", "Those in Taiwan Things" and so on.Among them, the novel "Wounded America" written in New York when the "911 Incident" broke out in the United States, and the novel "Walking Russia" written by visiting Russia and Ukraine on the 10th anniversary of the disintegration of the Soviet Union, have gone beyond the scope of "walking literature". It has become a documentary literature of major international events.Popular science, science fiction, documentary literature, and walking literature form the three major sections of my works.

My mother said that I was a "hard worker" and that I was eating "hero rice".It is about fate that I will work hard for the rest of my life. This time, at the appointment of Hunan People's Publishing House, I started to sort out and revise my works of more than 20 million words, and publish them in volumes and batches. This is undoubtedly a hard "meal" that can only be eaten by a "hero". To "work" for a while. My physique has always been good, and I often act as a "hero" by keeping blank medical records. However, a sudden serious illness in the autumn of 2008 almost brought an end to my life.I wrote my will and went to the operating table. Thanks to the doctor's meticulous treatment, I was saved from the operating room. After this fight with the god of death, I feel the preciousness of time and the limitation of life. In 2009, I "scrambled to run" at an almost "crazy" speed, published more than a dozen books, and once again set the record of "publishing one book a month".I also rushed day and night to write a 420,000-word long novel "Approaching Qian Xuesen", which was released nationwide one month after the death of Academician Qian Xuesen, the "father of Chinese missiles". At the end of January 2010, I received a call from the hospital statistician. She repeatedly asked if it was Ye Yonglie who answered the phone. I told her that she had just returned from Dubai and Egypt, and I could hear a surprised voice on the other end of the phone. This is the second time I have received such a call after being discharged from the hospital, and I understand that this is to "track" and count the "survival rate" after the operation.I don't care how many years I can "survive", but I do care how many years I can write.Writing is beautiful. The life of writing is splendid. "If one survives, there will be future fortunes".Now, everything is normal for me, I still go abroad, interview, and write, but I have a strong sense of time urgency.I hope that after finishing the compilation of "Ye Yonglie's Collected Works", I can go all out to write several new novels. It should be noted that the currently published "Ye Yonglie Anthology" only includes works that I can publish in mainland China.I still have some works published in Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as the completed "Storm" Trilogy (that is, the 1.5 million-word "Haunted by the Storm", "Now I Can Talk", "The Tree Wants to Be Still but the Wind Doesn't Stop") The last two novels cannot be included yet. It should also be noted that I bought nearly 50 fake works signed by Ye Yonglie from various book stalls, such as "Lai Changxing's Black Trilogy", as well as "Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping" published under the name of "Ye Yonglie's Collected Works", "Mao Zedong and Lin Biao", "Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai", "Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi", etc. are not written by me, and naturally they cannot be included in "Ye Yonglie's Collected Works".
