March 5, 1978 was the 80th birthday of our beloved Premier Zhou. This is a day that arouses the infinite remembrance of hundreds of millions of people. At this moment, when I think of the Prime Minister's glorious achievements, the lofty qualities of the Prime Minister, the kind teachings the Prime Minister gave me, and the affectionate care the Prime Minister has given to my family for generations, I can't stop the tears from filling my eyes. The Prime Minister's voice and smile appeared before my eyes again. The first time I met Zhou Enlai was in Guangzhou in 1924.At that time, our party and the Kuomintang cooperated for the first time. Mr. Sun Yat-sen led the reorganization of the Kuomintang according to our party's proposal, and implemented the three major policies of alliance with Russia, alliance with the Communist Party, and support for farmers and workers. The whole of China is at the climax of the democratic revolution against imperialism, feudalism and warlords. It was at this time that Zhou Enlai returned to Guangzhou from Paris in 1924 and devoted himself to the vigorous revolutionary movement. He is one of the six preparatory committee members of the Whampoa Military Academy. After the establishment of the Whampoa Military Academy, Zhou Enlai served as the director of the political department, and my father Liao Zhong trusted the party representative. The two of them worked together and were often together. At that time, although Comrade Zhou Enlai was still very young, his outstanding leadership skills had already been shown.

In 1924, when I was 16 years old, I was at the door of my house one night in early autumn when I saw a man in a white canvas suit come in and talked with my father in a low voice for a long time. His piercing eyes and two resolute thick eyebrows left a deep impression on me.I asked my father, "Who is this man?" My father said, "You don't know him yet?" On August 20, 1925, my father was assassinated by Kuomintang reactionaries. On the same day, Comrade Zhou Enlai rushed to the hospital to visit him.In order to thoroughly track down the mastermind behind the scenes, Comrade Zhou Enlai joined the "Liao Case Procuratorial Committee".Together with Comrade Yang Pao'an, he actively and seriously tracked down the murderer of the Liao case.Comrade Zhou Enlai also personally interrogated the murderer, and wrote a commemorative article "Don't Forget the Party's Enmity", concluding that the assassination was a "big shady conspiracy".Sure enough, the shady scene was uncovered. It was the work of imperialism and the entire Kuomintang right-wing group. It was Hu Hanmin's brother Hu Yisheng and his buddies Zhu Zhuowen, Zou Lu, Wu Tiecheng, Xu Chongzhi, and the Xishan Conference who organized and bought the murderer. Pai, are all involved in this assassination plot. But Wang Jingwei cried loudly and stubbornly opposed the immediate execution of these rightist leaders. The measures Wang Jingwei took were trivial matters such as "lowering the flag at half-staff" and "state funeral". It was only to expel these rightist leaders from Guangzhou and it was over.At that time, these Kuomintang rightists were eliminated, but Chiang Kai-shek stole the fruits of victory in eliminating the rightists and seized the opportunity to seize the power of the party and government. The above-mentioned rightists later arrived in Nanjing one by one and became Chiang Kai-shek's honored guests.

In 1926, the "Zhongshan Ship Incident" occurred again. This was a counter-revolutionary conspiracy planned by Chiang Kai-shek to attack the Communist Party. At that time, Party leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Chen Yannian all advocated fighting against Chiang Kai-shek.However, Chen Duxiu, a right-leaning capitulationist, shamelessly defended Chiang Kai-shek, compromised, and allowed Chiang Kai-shek to further usurp the army and seize power.Later, Chiang Kai-shek launched a counter-revolutionary coup, and the vigorous revolution was ruined by Chen Duxiu's capitulationist line.

Comrade Zhou Enlai and I met again, and there was an interval of 10 years.During this period, Comrade Zhou Enlai led the Nanchang Uprising, and later entered the Central Soviet Area from Shanghai. In January 1935, during the Long March, when the Chinese revolution was in danger of dying, at the historic Zunyi Conference, Comrade Zhou Enlai firmly supported Chairman Mao and supported Chairman Mao as the leader of our party. After the Zunyi Conference, Chairman Mao led our party to wage a sharp struggle against Zhang Guotao's anti-Party and separatist activities.Zhang Guotao killed many cadres sent by the Central Committee to the Fourth Front Army, including Comrade Hu Di, who together with Comrades Li Kenong and Qian Zhuangfei made a decisive contribution to the security of the Shanghai Party Central Committee, was also secretly killed by Zhang Guotao.Comrades Zeng Zhongsheng and Kuang Jixun were also killed.Zhang Guotao also almost killed all the cadres sent by the Sichuan Provincial Committee to the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Area.Comrade Luo Shiwen, Zhu Guang and I were also imprisoned by Zhang Guotao at that time. The Fourth Front Army and the Second Front Army entered Gansu and Ningxia, and when they reached the Yellow River, Comrade Zhou Enlai inquired about some comrades and me along the way. Finally, on the way to Yuwangbao, Comrade Zhou Enlai met me.

I was very excited when I saw Comrade Zhou Enlai. I have not seen him in 10 years since I left Guangzhou. When I met Comrade Zhou Enlai 10 years ago, I was still a middle school student; when I met 10 years later, I was already a member of the Communist Party, but at that time I was "expelled" from the party by Zhang Guotao!Seeing Comrade Zhou Enlai under such circumstances, I don't know what to do.I thought to myself: Should I avoid it or not? There was someone guarding me next to me. If I greeted or talked to Comrade Zhou Enlai, I was afraid that it would cause trouble for him, because Zhang Guotao was a ruthless guy. While I was hesitating, Comrade Zhou Enlai came over and saw me being escorted. He had no expression on his face, as if nothing had happened, and did not speak, but he shook hands with me tightly. That night, Comrade Zhou Enlai sent a correspondent to find me at the headquarters. After I entered the house, I saw a large room full of people, including Zhang Guotao.Zhang Guotao clearly knew that Comrade Zhou Enlai knew me, but he asked eccentrically, "Have you known each other for a long time?" Comrade Zhou Enlai didn't answer him directly, but instead asked me sharply, "Have you made a mistake?" "Is the understanding deep?" "Change or not?" I answered one by one.Comrade Zhou Enlai kept me for dinner.During the meal, Comrade Zhou Enlai only talked to Zhang Guotao and ignored me.Call me back after dinner.I saluted and left.Comrade Zhou Enlai was very thoughtful in his consideration of issues and his art of struggle was superb. If he hadn't asked me that, I might have lost my head that night.Since Comrade Zhou Enlai called me away, my treatment has improved significantly, and I was released soon.

After the Long March, I worked in Yan'an Magazine.Comrade Zhou Enlai was often away, and he would come back every once in a while, and sometimes he would give reports in the Central Auditorium. In October 1937, Chairman Mao sent me to work in the Chiang Kai-shek area.Shanghai fell, so I was ordered to go to Hong Kong to organize a semi-open Eighth Route Army office in Hong Kong. In 1938, according to Comrade Zhou Enlai's instructions, I flew from Hong Kong to Wuhan.Comrade Zhou Enlai clearly instructed me to raise donations for the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army with great fanfare in Hong Kong.As a result, overseas Chinese and foreign friends donated a lot of money, medical equipment, medicines, vehicles and other materials. These materials were first transported to the north through Guangzhou, and then transferred to Yan'an through Haiphong.Later, the KMT got stuck and refused to allow these materials to be imported, so we had to deposit the donations first. In 1940, I went to Chongqing with Comrade Zhang Wenbin to attend a meeting chaired by Comrade Zhou Enlai himself. At that time, Comrade Zhou Enlai severely criticized erroneous viewpoints such as "everything goes through the united front and everything is subject to the united front", "donations must be handed over to the Kuomintang", "don't engage in guerrillas in Guangdong".

In 1942, after the fall of Hong Kong, I was arrested by the Kuomintang in Lechang near Shaoguan.Comrade Zhou Enlai protested and negotiated with the Kuomintang many times on behalf of our party, asking for his release, but under the circumstances at that time there would be no results. My mother was going to Chongqing, but Chiang Kai-shek refused to let her go.Until the beginning of 1946, when the Kuomintang army attacked the liberated area, Ma Fawu, the deputy commander of the enemy's 11th war zone, the deputy commander of the 40th army, and the chief of staff were captured by me. After many negotiations between our party and the Kuomintang, we released Ma Fawu. Wait, the Kuomintang released Comrade Ye Ting and me. On the afternoon of January 22, 1946, I was escorted from the top of Gele Mountain in Chongqing to the Shao Lizi office of the old CPPCC.At that time, I didn't know that I was going to be released, so I thought I was going to be transferred to another place to be imprisoned again. But soon, I suddenly heard someone coughing downstairs. It was the voice of Comrade Zhou Enlai. At that time, my blood was boiling all over, and I was so excited that I couldn't say a word.As soon as he came in, he hugged me tightly when he saw me.It's really a long time to meet relatives, it's hard to show your heart.Only when I saw Comrade Zhou Enlai did I know that I had returned to the embrace of the party.Later, the organization arranged for me to go to Hongyan to rest for a while. One day, Comrade Zhou Enlai came to see me again and said to me: You are already an alternate member of the Central Committee of the "Seventh National Congress". There are many disadvantages. You have to set strict demands on yourself and pay attention to political influence everywhere.Comrade Zhou Enlai once again educated and helped me, which made me have a clearer understanding of myself and was always alert to my shortcomings. In May 1946, I followed Zhou Enlai, Mr. Dong, and Sister Deng to the Nanjing Communist Party delegation. In Meiyuan New Village, I received more education and help from Zhou Enlai. After the outbreak of all-out civil war, I returned to Yan'an in September to work for Xinhua News Agency. In March 1947, the Kuomintang invaded Yan'an and bombed Yan'an.Chairman Mao and the Party Central Committee decided to withdraw from Yan'an.Before the withdrawal, Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai came to me to assign tasks, and clearly instructed: Once Yan'an Radio Station is off the air, Shanxi-Hebei-Luyu Radio Station will be connected to ensure that the sound of Northern Shaanxi Radio Station will not be interrupted. An hour before withdrawing from Yan'an, Zhou Enlai personally went to Yangjialing, Zaoyuan, Wangjiaping, and Qingliangshan to check carefully to see what was forgotten and what was left behind. He was very careful and thorough. Before we crossed the Yellow River, Zhou Enlai asked me to assign a task again. The cadres of Xinhua News Agency were divided into two parts. One part was led by Comrade Fan Changjiang and followed Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai. The work of this part of comrades was directly led by Zhou Enlai.I went to the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan liberated area with most of the comrades to ensure that the voice of the Northern Shaanxi Radio Station will continue and the daily work of Xinhua News Agency will continue.

After the liberation of the whole country, I had more opportunities to contact Premier Zhou. His elders gave me more education and criticism.Regardless of work, style, or thinking, Premier Zhou has strict requirements on me. He sometimes points out my shortcomings and mistakes to me in person, and sometimes criticizes me seriously in front of relevant comrades.Sister Deng treated me the same way, pointing out any shortcomings and mistakes to me in time.Premier Zhou is very concerned about comrades, and the more familiar he is, the stricter his requirements will be.Every time I think of my criticism and education, I am grateful to Premier Zhou from the bottom of my heart. For those of us who are older and have done a little work, it is easy to talk about what happened back then.Premier Zhou has never been like this. He has stricter requirements on himself. He often tells us about his shortcomings in the past. The more he talks, the more we feel that he is great. In mid-August 1972, Premier Zhou talked with the returning ambassador for two days. He strictly demanded himself and deeply dissected himself. , I am very modest, and demand myself with higher standards, and use this to teach my comrades by precept and deed.Premier Zhou really carried out Chairman Mao's teachings on self-criticism to the letter.

Premier Zhou attached great importance to the unity of the party and the democratic life within the party. At the end of the foreign affairs conference in 1965, he asked Comrade Chen Yi to talk to some leading comrades of the Foreign Affairs Office, the Foreign Affairs Office, and ambassadors abroad late at night, talking about thoughts, talking about democratic life, and talking about leadership style.Premier Zhou said: Unity must be emphasized. Disunity is the germ of division. We must take the initiative to improve unity.Unity, for a leader, the leadership style must be democratic.Democratic centralism is the principle and tradition of the party. As a leader, don't say anything.Talking too much is dangerous.A good leader must be good at adhering to correct opinions, be good at listening to others' correct opinions, and have the courage to give up his own wrong opinions; he must be good at persuading others to accept his own correct opinions and dare to accept others' correct opinions .This is where democracy comes in. You can listen to a lot of things at the same time, and you will understand if you listen at the same time.A good leader must be able to actively create an atmosphere where the subordinates dare to argue with you.Even if it turns out that you are right and others are wrong, it doesn't matter, it can also play a role in uniting comrades. At this point in Premier Zhou's speech, Comrade Chen Yi interjected: The Prime Minister has always been like this. You must talk about unity, you must have democracy, you must be close to the masses, and you must not make even ghosts dare to come to your door. The heart-to-heart meeting held by Premier Zhou gave us another profound education.

Premier Zhou's reverence for Chairman Mao is especially worth learning from.Premier Zhou was willing to be an assistant, and he was Chairman Mao's close comrade-in-arms and best assistant.Wherever he is, he always thinks of Chairman Mao first, and always thinks about how to implement the party's line, principles, and policies. In his heart, there is no such thing as "I", only the Party, Chairman Mao and the masses. After liberation, Premier Zhou took on the heavy task of handling the daily affairs of the party and the country. He was always energetic, diligent, hard-working, selfless and tireless in his work.Premier Zhou has no personal hobbies, his only hobby is work.Sometimes when he goes to watch cultural programs, he is also working.Premier Zhou warmly received foreign friends and overseas Chinese. Some interviews lasted more than ten hours, from midnight to dawn, without any tiredness. When Premier Zhou talked about our party's principles and policies, and clarified the principles and positions of our government, he always explained the profound things in a simple way, so that the other party was completely convinced, and he also conducted in-depth investigation and research on the other party.Premier Zhou will never stop until he has thoroughly clarified a problem. The "Gang of Four" slandered Premier Zhou as "business-oriented", which just exposed the reactionary face of the "Gang of Four" who hated Chairman Mao's teachings on investigation and research. The job of Premier Zhou is not only to implement the party's line, principles, and policies day and night, but also to grasp them deeply and firmly, and to implement them in every specific matter.Chairman Mao said: Comrade Enlai is a tireless person. From this we can see Premier Zhou's incomparable loyalty to the revolutionary leaders and the party's cause. Our good prime minister is a model who is strict with himself, a model who is willing to be a bully, and a model who implements the party's line. How despicable and shameless the "Gang of Four" frantically opposed and persecuted our beloved Premier Zhou! What a hateful femme fatale!

In terms of foreign work, Premier Zhou is a thorough proletarian internationalist and resolutely implements the party's revolutionary diplomatic line.In international exchanges, he distinguishes between likes and hates, enemies and friends, stands firm, and has a clear-cut banner, which has won the infinite love and respect of Marxist-Leninists and revolutionary people all over the world.Regarding fraternal countries and the vast third world countries, Premier Zhou asked us not to have big country chauvinism in our thinking and actions, and he himself practiced it.After the Chinese People's Volunteers returned home triumphantly from North Korea, Premier Zhou, on behalf of Chairman Mao, the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government and the Chinese people, went to North Korea to express his gratitude to Chairman Kim Il Sung, the Workers' Party of Korea, the North Korean government and the Korean people.I would like to thank the North Korean comrades for their great sacrifices in the War of Resistance Against the United States and for their great support to the Chinese people and the Chinese People's Volunteers. Regarding the relationship between our country and Japan, both Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou did the work in person.People from all walks of life from Japan, Chairman Mao talked with them, and Premier Zhou also talked with them.Premier Zhou met with several former Japanese prime ministers. In 1972, he also met the then Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka.Premier Zhou has done a lot of work from various factions of the Liberal Democratic Party to the Socialist Party, as well as the Komeito Party and the Democratic Socialist Party. He has met almost all leftists, business and cultural circles, writers, actors, journalists, commentators, and anyone who is a little representative of Japan.Premier Zhou made great contributions to the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Japan on the basis of the joint statement on September 29, 1972, and to the development of friendly relations between the Chinese and Japanese peoples and the two countries. The glorious image of Premier Zhou has generally left an indelible impression on the Japanese people. Those of us who work in foreign affairs have many opportunities to visit Premier Zhou abroad. The Prime Minister pays great attention to external influence, and often quizzes us on certain issues. When our answer was slightly inaccurate, Premier Zhou immediately asked, "Where did this statement come from? What is the basis for it?" If he heard us say that it was a sudden thought, he would criticize us and teach us that we should not replace policy with feelings. Premier Zhou not only loves comrades politically and ideologically, but also cares about comrades in every possible way in life. Many old comrades were in poor health, and many comrades who were injured on duty and whose lives were in danger, Premier Zhou personally intervened, arranged for them to go to the hospital for examination, treatment, and rescue, and often visited the hospital in person. In the winter of 1970, I had a heart attack. Despite his busy schedule, Premier Zhou paid close attention to my condition and arranged for me to be hospitalized in Beijing Hospital. When he learned that my condition had deteriorated, he came to the hospital to see me in person. When the Prime Minister arrived at the hospital, he did not come directly to my ward. Instead, he called Comrade Jing Puchun out first and asked her, "Can I go in and see him? Will it agitate him if I go to see him? Will it make him worse?" His illness?" Comrade Jing Puchun was so moved that he invited him into the ward with tears in his eyes, he came in to see me.Premier Zhou has been so caring and considerate to me, I can't help but burst into tears when I think of it.Premier Zhou cared about comrades in this way, but did not allow others to have any special care for him.During the Bandung Conference, Premier Zhou lived in the embassy. His work was very stressful and exhausting. The then ambassador to Indonesia, Comrade Huang Zhen, wanted to have more dishes, and Premier Zhou would like to eat better. He offered advice. In 1974, after Premier Zhou was hospitalized for treatment, I accompanied my Japanese friends to visit him several times. Seeing that he became significantly thinner each time, I felt very sad and tried my best to hold back tears. When we were leaving, Premier Zhou personally sent the foreign guests out. I saw that he was having difficulty walking, and I wanted to help him, but the Premier refused to let him go, so I had to walk by myself.Premier Zhou did not want us to treat him as a patient. Premier Zhou has always loved and respected He Xiangning, the revolutionary old man.Premier Zhou seldom inscribed poems on other people's paintings, but my mother drew a painting for the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and he happily wrote an inscription: Premier Zhou was so busy with work that he visited my mother many times and took pictures with her. In August 1972, my mother was critically ill, and Premier Zhou visited the hospital. When my mother, who was already in a coma, saw him, it was like seeing a relative. She suddenly woke up and asked Premier Zhou that her body should be transported to Nanjing to be buried with my father.Premier Zhou immediately replied: "On behalf of Chairman Mao and the Party Central Committee, I agree with your request." Later, Premier Zhou also asked Comrade Jing Puchun and me to do work, and said: "Madam He has made great contributions to the revolution all her life. Her request should be Satisfy her.” After her mother passed away, the central government arranged for comrades in charge of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee and Sister Deng to escort her mother’s coffin to Nanjing to join her father’s tomb. There are also many responsible comrades of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. On January 8, 1976, our beloved Premier Zhou bid farewell to us forever.Unspeakable grief falls on the hearts of our entire family. We, like hundreds of millions of people across the country, mourn the loss of our wonderful Prime Minister. When the sad news of Premier Zhou's death came, our whole family couldn't cry all day long, and the mourning and joy on the radio hit our hearts like a heavy hammer. When it was time to eat, no one could eat; it was late at night , can not sleep. At that time, I was only informed to bid farewell to Premier Zhou's body alone. However, my lover, Comrade Jing Puchun, his children, and the staff, out of infinite love and deep affection for Premier Zhou, also managed to go to the hospital one after another to pay respects to their relatives. Premier Zhou made his final salute and farewell.Standing in front of Premier Zhou's body, our uncontrollable grief made us feel that our hearts almost stopped beating. The children also spent a whole day carefully posting all the photos of Premier Zhou in our family on the album. Every photo aroused our infinite grief. We also framed some photos of Premier Zhou, hung them in the room, and looked up at them every day. In the two years since Premier Zhou passed away, people all over the country miss and remember our good Premier day and night. No matter where you go, you can always hear people talking about and praising the Prime Minister with affection; you can see tears of excitement in their eyes when talking about the Prime Minister; you can feel the revolutionary passion burning in people's hearts. The people's prime minister loves the people, and the people's prime minister loves the people. Now, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the people of the whole country are striving to realize the wishes of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou about realizing the four modernizations and building our country into a powerful socialist country.I think this is our best commemoration of our beloved Premier Zhou.
