Chapter 25 Chapter 20 Golden Crane

As the rain faded, the wind died down, but gray clouds still hid the sun, and the thin strands of rain wet Rand's hair and slowly seeped into his black and gold embroidered coat. Among the corpses of the devil.Logan wove a barrier of wind power so that raindrops could only bounce off him or slide to the ground, but Rand was not willing to risk Lews Therin taking control of Sailor again. The lunatic said he would wait until the end of the war before dying, but how could a lunatic be trusted? madman?Lews Therin whispered, Am I crazier than you?He let out a wild laugh. Nantila looked back at Rand from time to time. She was a tall, sinewy woman, her gray hair held back by a brown kerchief. She's the leader of the Maidens now, at least on this side of the Dragonwall Mountains, but she often leads the Maidens of Rand's guard herself. On her face, Rand could only see her green eyes under the black veil, and there was no emotion in those eyes. But Rand knew that she was worried about him and wanted to know why he didn't channel to block the rain. Maidens of the Maiden were very good at detecting subtle anomalies.Rand just wished she would keep quiet.

You have to trust me.Lews Therin said, trust me.Oh light, I am calling out to a voice in my head!I must be crazy. Nantila and fifty other veiled Maidens formed a ring around Rand, shoulder to shoulder, pointing their lances at every Trolloc and Modao they passed. When they lifted their legs over the severed limbs, horned and fang-like heads, it was as easy and natural as they stepped over ordinary stones.Occasionally a Trolloc groaned, or tried in vain to crawl away—or pounce on them, but none of these monsters were enough of a threat anymore.Fighting Trollocs is like fighting rabid dogs, you kill them or they kill you, no negotiation, no surrender, no draw.

Because of the rain, vultures have not appeared, but crows can be seen everywhere, their black feathers shining with the luster of rain, even if they are the eyeliner of the dark emperor, they will not give up the eyes of the ogre or other position opportunities. The shattered Trolloc corpses became a feast for these scavengers, but none of the crows approached the Trollocs, not even the Trollocs around him. Smells that make these birds uneasy. The blood of Madao, if left on the blade long enough to eat through the steel, must have smelled like poison to the crow. The Saldaeans who survived were killing the crows with bows and arrows and their curved sabers, or driving them away with shovels, hoes, and pitchforks. In the border country, it is unimaginable to let a crow move around, where they are likely to be the eyes of the Dark Emperor. But there are too many crows here, hundreds of black-feathered birds lay down among those Trollocs, and tens of thousands of black birds are vigorously scrambling for the softer parts of the Trollocs, and even There are corpses of their kind. The Martyrs and Aes Sedai had long given up the hope of killing them all.

"I don't like my people draining themselves like this," Logan said.He said they were his people. "I don't like sisters like this either. Gabler and Toveyon will be exhausted by sunset." He bound the two Aes Sedai, so he knew. "What if they attack again?" From time to time there was a flash of fire beside the manor house and the surrounding barns, because the flames were so intense that people around them had to cover their eyes. Here were Aes Sedai and Martyrs burning the bodies of shadow creatures, too many of them to pile them together. There were no more than twenty Aes Sedai and no more than a dozen Martyrs here, and perhaps over a hundred thousand Trollocs had died here. Cleaning up this battlefield would be a long and hard job.Until it's done, the air here can only become more and more unbearable, and now the place is filled with a shadowy creature smell mixed with putrefaction and copper rust, and every Trolloc with a ruptured body cavity is a strong stench. source. And those who are familiar with them know that it is best not to think about what the smelly things in their stomachs are.The farmers and villagers from the Spine of the World to this estate were probably gone. The Trollocs must have come from that direction. The Taoist gate outside the Shangtai settlement is there, but Royal's hometown should at least be safe.Neither the Trollocs nor the Modao would enter a settlement unless they were driven out by an extremely powerful force.

"So you're going to let them rot here?" Cadsuane asked. From the tone of her voice, she didn't agree with Logan's idea. She was holding her green skirt with her hands to avoid the muddy blood and rotting intestines all over the floor. But when she stepped over the stumps and heads with the ease of the Maidens, she wove a shield from the rain.Alivia made her own rain cover after seeing the Green Aes Sedai weaving.Rand had wanted the Aes Sedai who had sworn allegiance to him to teach the Seanchan woman the use of the Power, but according to those Aes Sedai it had nothing to do with their oath of loyalty.Alivia is not dangerous to herself or others, and they think that is enough.Nynaeve also refused Rand's request because of Min's vision.Cadsuane told him coldly that it was not her job to teach the wildlings.

"In that case, this place will really become a cursed corpse dump." Ming said. Her swaying figure has always fascinated Rand, but she's clearly trying to stop herself from thinking about what's under her feet, while keeping her blue high-heeled boots away from the nasty stuff, which makes her stagger from time to time. one time. She was also wet from the rain, and her hair curled up on her forehead, but what filled the bondage was not anger, but anger. Looking at her eyes, the target of her anger should be Logan. "In that case, what will the servants, farmers and laborers do here? How will they live?"

"There will be no second attack," Rand said. "Even if the mastermind behind this attack knew he had failed, it would not be strong enough to launch another attack immediately. This is their entire army. Modao likes to concentrate all his strength on a massive attack, rather than continuously investing strength." Logan muttered, but he couldn't refute Rand on this matter. Rand glanced back at the main house of the manor. Some dead Trollocs lay outside the main house, and they didn't make it in, but... Logan was right, he thought, he'd only gotten away with the carnage. The Martyr and Aes Sedai brought by Logan may have a completely different ending. So what if there is indeed a second attack anytime soon?Obviously, either someone who understood Ishmael's tricks, or the blue-eyed man who appeared in his mind could locate him.The second attack was bound to be larger, or to strike suddenly from some unexpected place.Perhaps, he should ask Logan to summon some more martyrs.

You should have killed them long ago, Lews Therin cried.Too late, too late now. The source is cleansed, fool.Rand thought. Yes, Lews Therin replied, but what about them? And me? Rand has always wondered about his current situation. One of the two wounds on his side came from Ishamel, and the other came from Paden Fan's Shadarrogos poisonous dagger. It often beats violently, as if it has a life of its own. The circle of Maidens of the Spears parted slightly, and a white-haired servant with a long and pointed nose and a figure thinner than Ethene came in. He was holding a double-layer seaman parasol in his hand. Half of the silk tassels had fallen off, and there were still a few holes in the old blue silk umbrella.Tiny streams of water fell from the holes onto his yellow coat, and a stream of rain fell straight on his head and trickled down the thinning hair that stuck to his skull, and it looked as if he wouldn't have If you use this umbrella, the rain on your body may be less. There was no doubt that this umbrella was a souvenir from one of Ogarin's ancestors, and perhaps there was a wonderful story hidden behind it, and Rand didn't think the Sea People would give up a tribal wave-length parasol easily.

"Lord Dragon," said the old man, bowing to let more rain fall on his back, "Aes Sedai Verin entrusted me to deliver this directly into your hands." He took it from under his coat. A piece of paper came out, which was neatly folded and had a wax seal printed on it. Rand tucked the paper hastily into his coat pocket, lest it get wet and ink stained. "Thank you, but you can give it to me after I get back to the house. Go back quickly, or you will soon be soaked." "She said she would give it to you directly, Lord Dragon." The old man seemed offended. "She is an Aes Sedai."

It wasn't until Rand nodded to him that he bowed again, turned around and walked slowly towards the main house of the manor. He straightened his back proudly, the rainwater passed through the parasol and fell on him like a torrent. She was an Aes Sedai, and everyone looked in awe of Aes Sedai, even Tyre, who didn't like Aes Sedai. What would Vaelin have to say to compel him to write him a letter?Rubbing the wax seal, Rand continued to walk forward. His target was a barn, its thatched roof partly blackened, the one the Trollocs had breached.A stout man in a brown dungaree coat and muddy boots was leaning against the doorpost of the open door. When he saw Rand approaching, he straightened up quickly and, for some reason, glanced back. The Maidens quickly dispersed and surrounded the barn.

Rand stopped abruptly at the barn door, and Ming and the others all stopped behind him.Logan cursed. In the barn, there were two oil lamps hanging on the pillars supporting the attic. With the dim light, they could still see that all the places in the barn were covered with flies, even the dirt floor covered by dry grass was no exception. More flies were buzzing and circling in mid-air. "Where did they come from?" Rand asked.Ogarin may not have been rich, but his barn and corrals were always as clean as those in the palace. The big man showed a guilty look. He was younger than most of the servants here, but the top of his head was almost half bald, and the corners of his eyes and a big mouth were full of wrinkles. "I don't know, my lord." He murmured, tapping his forehead with his muddy fist.He stared hard at Rand, obviously not wanting to see the barn. "I just came out to catch my breath and turned around and they were all over the place again. I thought... I thought they were just dead flies." Rand shook his head in disgust. These flies were too active. Not all the Saldaeans guarding the barn died, but the bodies of all Saldaean victims are placed here. The Saldaeans don't like being buried in the rain, they don't know why, but they just don't want to have a funeral when it's raining.Nineteen were lined up in neat rows on the ground, and their bodies were carefully sorted out, and though some were missing hands and feet, or their heads were smashed beyond recovery, their friends and comrades did their best to arrange them. into a comfortable sleeping position, and wash their faces and close their eyes. They're why Rand came, he didn't come to see them to say goodbye or to mourn, these people had only been in his presence once in a while, and he was here to remind himself that even a seemingly utterly brilliant victory , but also to pay the price in blood.Either way, they shouldn't be covered in flies. I don't need a reminder, Lews Therin growled. I am not you, Rand thought, I must make myself strong. "Logan, get rid of the damn things!" he yelled. You are stronger than I used to be, said Lews Therin. He suddenly laughed. If you're not me, then who are you? "And now I'm a bloody swatter?" Logan muttered. Rand turned to him angrily, but Alivia beat him to it, saying in that vague, slow voice, "May I try, my lord." Like the Aes Sedai, she too Without waiting for Rand's permission, goose bumps soon appeared on Rand's body. Flies never fly in the open air with just a little rain, the raindrops are enough to smash them to the ground, and they can only be trapped on the ground until the wings dry again, but all of a sudden, all the flies are buzzing Rushing out to the door, as if the rain outside was more attractive than this barn. The flies gathered together seemed to be a huge monster, and Rand kept swiping away the flies that hit his face.Ming covered his face with his hands, disgust filled his bondage. But now the flies wanted nothing more than to get out, and in a little while there was not a single fly left in the barn. The big bald man stared at Alivia, opened his mouth wide, coughed violently suddenly, and spit two flies on his hands. Cadsuane glanced at him, and he immediately closed his mouth tightly, and then touched her with his thick fist. Touch the forehead. She just glanced at it, but it was Cadsuane. "It seems that you have seen clearly." She said to Alivia, her black eyes were fixed on the face of the Seanchan woman, but Alivia was not frightened, nor did she flinch in the slightest. Not in awe of Aes Sedai like ordinary people. "And I also remembered what I saw. If I want to be useful to Master Zhenlong, I have to learn more. I have learned more than you can imagine." Ming's throat said There was a sound, very much like a roar, and anger surged in the bondage, but the yellow-haired woman ignored her. "You won't be angry with me?" she asked Rand again worriedly. "I'm not angry, try to learn as much as you can, you've done a very good job." Alivia blushed instantly and bowed her head, like a girl receiving an unexpected compliment. There were fine crow's feet around her eyes, but sometimes, it was really hard to imagine that she was at least a hundred years older than any living Aes Sedai, and Rand felt that she was five or six years younger than himself. He decided that he had to find someone who could guide her. "Rand Arthur," Ming said angrily, crossing his arms across his chest, "you can't let this woman..." "What you see is never wrong," Rand interrupted her. "What you see will happen. You tried to change those things, but never succeeded. You told me, Ming .This time, how can you think things will be different?" "Because it must be different this time." Ming said excitedly. She leaned toward him, as if about to jump at him. "Because I want it to be different, because it will be different. Anyway, I don't understand everything I see. All people change, and my prophecy about Moiraine was wrong, and I saw her in All sorts of things that happened in the future, and she died. Maybe some of the other things that I saw never happened." This time will never be different.Lews Therin gasped. You promised me! Logan frowned slightly and shook his head slightly. He didn't like to hear Ming deny his ability.Rand almost regretted telling him about the visions Min had seen in him, but then, it encouraged him to live on, and it didn't seem like it would do any harm.In order to confirm Ming's ability, Logan even asked the Aes Sedai, but he was smart enough not to express his doubts to Rand. "Don't see why this girl would be so excited about you, child," Cadsuane murmured. She bit her lip thoughtfully, then shook her head again, causing the gold ornaments on her head to sway with it. "Yes, you are beautiful, but I still don't understand." To avoid another quarrel with Min (Min didn't call this a quarrel, she said they were "talking", but Rand understood the difference), Rand took out Verin's letter and opened it with a huge Yellow wax seal with snake ring pattern. The Brown Aes Sedai's spidery-legged writing covered most of the letter, and a few letters had been smudged by the raindrops that had penetrated the paper. He went to an oil lamp in the barn, and there was a faint stench of rotting oil. As I said, I have done everything I can do here, and I believe that I can fulfill my oath to you more in other places, so I took Thomas and left. After all, there are many ways to be loyal to you, and there are many things that I need to do.I think you can trust Cadsuane, and you definitely need her advice, but be careful with other sisters, including those who swear allegiance to you.Such an oath is in no way binding on Black Aes Sedai, and even those sisters who walk in the light interpret it in ways you would not approve of.You have seen that few people think that this oath means absolute obedience to you, and they will certainly find other gaps. So, whether you take Cadsuane's advice or not, I must stress that you should take mine.Be very careful. The end-of-letter signature is just a simple "Verin". Rand snorted angrily.Few would think that this oath meant absolute obedience? No one thought that way at all, and they obeyed him, but never did what he wanted.Verin warned him to be careful that others would not obey his orders, but she left without telling him where she was going or what she was going to do. Was she afraid that he would disapprove?Maybe that was just an Aes Sedai secret.Aes Sedai kept secrets as naturally as breathing. When he handed the letter to Cadsuane, Cadsuane's left eyebrow twitched a little. She must have been surprised to have such an expression, but she took the letter calmly and put it in the Where the lights illuminate. "A woman with many masks," Cadsuane said, returning the letter to Rand after reading the letter, "but her advice is not bad." What did she mean by mask?Just as Rand was about to ask, Elder Royal and Elder Haman suddenly appeared at the barn door, both carrying beautifully carved longaxes on their shoulders. The white-haired elf elder had his furry ears pursed behind his head, and his face was serious.Royal's ears were twitching, and Rand guessed it was because he was too excited, though he wasn't sure. "Didn't bother you?" Elder Haman said.Seeing a row of corpses in the barn, he pricked up his ears, and his eyes showed a sad look. "No," Rand said, putting the letter back in his pocket. "I wish I could attend your wedding, Royal, but..." "Oh, the wedding is done, Rand," said Royal. He must be very excited, interrupting others is by no means his habit. "My mother insisted on doing this. We haven't even had time to hold a wedding banquet yet, and maybe we won't have the chance in the future. There is a message from the Stump Conference that I must..." the Elder Ogier pressed his arm. "What?" Royal turned his head to the elder. "Oh, yes, of course, yes." He rubbed his broad nose with thick fingers like a large sausage. Is there anything he can't say?Apparently, even the Ogiers have their secrets.Rand twisted the letter in his pocket.Of course, everyone has secrets. "I promise you, Rand," Royal said, "no matter what happens, I will stand with you in the end of the war, no matter what happens." "My child." Elder Haman murmured, "I don't think you should..." He fell into silence again, just shaking his head constantly, whispering something in a rough voice, the voice heard It seemed as if an earthquake was happening in the distance. Rand strode up to Royal, and stretched out his right hand. Royal grinned open the giant elf's mouth, and took Rand's hand into his own.Rand had to lift his head as far as possible to see his friend's face. "Thank you, Royal, I can't describe what it means to me to hear you say that. But until then, I need your strength." "you need me?" "Roial, I have sealed all the gates I know, in Caemlyn, Cairhien, Illian, and Tyr, and I have laid a very sinister trap in front of the gate near Faldalah, but I can't find the gates near Famedin, and even if I knew there were gates in a city, I couldn't find it, and there are cities that no longer exist. I need you to help me find the remaining ones, Roja Or the Trollocs could invade any country in the blink of an eye, appearing in the heart of Andor or Cairhien without anyone knowing." Royal's smile faded, his ears quivered, and the brow fell to his cheek. "I can't, Rand," he said sadly. "I have to leave tomorrow morning. I don't know when I'll be able to get out of the settlement again." "I know, you have been away from the settlement for a long time, Royal." Rand tried his best to make his voice appear gentler, but it was really difficult to do so. Gentleness seemed to have faded for him. memory. "I'll talk to your mother, and I'll convince her to let you come out after a short break." "He needs more than a little rest." Elder Haman poked the handle of the ax on the ground, grabbed the ax with both hands, and looked at Rand with stern eyes. The Ogier is a peaceful race, but there isn't much peace about him right now. "It's been five years since he came out. It's too long. He needs to rest in the settlement for at least a few weeks, maybe a few months would be better." "My mother doesn't make those decisions for me anymore, Rand, though I don't think she realizes it, to be honest. Now, it's my wife, Elise." His thick voice was full of pride, and his chest was puffed out, and his wide grin almost split his face in two. "I haven't congratulated you yet." Rand patted him on the shoulder. He himself felt that this sentence was insincere, but he was indeed trying his best to express his enthusiasm. "If you need to rest for a few months, go ahead and rest, but I still need an Ogier to find those gates. In the morning, I will personally send you to the Shangtai settlement, maybe I can convince someone there Ogiri come to help me." Elder Haman frowned and turned to his own hands holding the handle of the axe, and began to mutter something again.Rand couldn't hear what he was saying, but felt as if a super-giant bee was hovering in the big jar, and the elder Ogier seemed to be arguing with himself. "It might take a while," Royal said hesitantly. "You know, we don't like to rush into decisions, and I'm not even sure they're going to let humans into the settlement, because we're having the Stump Conference. Rand , if I don't come back before the final war...you'll tell me what's going on outside while I'm in the settlement, won't you? I don't have to try to pull everything out of your mouth anymore Bar?" "If I could, I would," Rand replied. If you can, Lews Therin yelled. You promised that we would eventually die in the Doomsday War.You promised, madman! "He will answer your questions until you are satisfied, Royal." Ming said firmly, "even if I have to keep stomping on him to make him speak." Anger filled the bondage, and only she knew what he was thinking something. Elder Harman cleared his throat: "I believe that, except for the masons, I am more used to life outside than all my compatriots. Well, yes, actually, I think I am probably the best candidate for this task .” "Ha!" said Cadsuane. "It looks like you can even have an effect on the Ogiers, child." Her voice was sharp as a knife, but there was only the serenity of an Aes Sedai on her face, and everything was hidden there. Behind a pair of dark eyes, unreadable. Royal's ears froze in horror, and the ax in his hand almost fell to the ground. "Do you really want this? But we're going to the Stump Conference, Elder Haman! The Stump Conference!" "I'm sure you can handle the issues there, boy, your words are simple but touching. Well, well, my advice is, don't use flowery words, just use simple but persuasive words, and everyone will be happy." You are surprised, including your mother." Royal's already extremely stiff ears became even more stiff at this moment. His mouth moved, but he didn't say a word.Is he going to speak at the stump convention? What secret are they hiding? "Lord True Dragon, Lord Daphron is back." Aisa Panfur accompanied Bashere into the barn. She was a handsome woman wearing a dark green riding skirt. Seeing Rand's There seemed to be a fiery fire in her brown eyes.At least Rand didn't have to worry about this woman, to whom Elsa held a rather fervent devotion. "Thanks, Aisa," Rand told her. "You'd better help them clean up. The job is far from done." Aisa pursed her lips a little and glanced at everyone from Cadsuane to the Ogiers with a hint of envy, but she quickly curtseyed and walked away.It is probably not too much to describe her loyalty with fanaticism. Bashere was a small, thin man with gray streaks in his black hair and a beard that curled up like horns on either side of his lips.He was wearing a gold-gray coat with embroidered gold, and on his belt, on the side opposite to the sword, was pinned the ivory marshal's staff of the Kingdom of Saldaea, with a golden wolf's head on the staff's head. The bottoms of his baggy breeches were laced up in turned-up boots, freshly waxed and gleaming though stained with grime. Now his job requires him to maintain the most dignified appearance, and in this regard, he is indeed very qualified. Even Seanchan must have heard of his reputation. He stepped forward with those legs that were a little splayed due to long-term horseback riding, and slowly walked through the queue of Saldaea victims, staring at the faces of each dead person, and the corners of his upturned black eyes revealed sadness.Rand, though anxious, did not disturb his mourning. "I've never seen that kind of scene outside." Bashere whispered as he walked, "A thousand Trollocs who have killed the demon realm is already considered a large-scale attack. Trollocs don't get more than a hundred or two. Ah, Kerkuhn, you can never hold your left side well, but even with a hundred Trollocs, make sure you have three of them Quadruple, to keep myself from being thrown into their soup pot. And here... I think, I have witnessed the prelude to the final war, this is the last war, even if it is only a small part of it-I really hope so. If We survived this war, and I never want to see it like it again. But we will always have war, and always will, unless all the people of the world become artisans.” At the end of the dead line, he stop. The man lying in front of him had his entire face split from the top of his head down to his gorgeous black beard. "Azkan would have had a bright future, and of course many of the dead did." He sighed heavily and turned to Rand. "The Daughter of September will meet you in three days. The meeting place is a manor in the north of Atla, near the border of Andor." He touched the chest of his coat. "I brought a map with me, and she's been around there, but they say it's not in their territory. If you're going to compare with the Seanchan in secrecy, even the Aes Sedai can't compare with the Void." A country girl who doesn't talk is no different." Hearing this, Cadsuane snorted. "Do you suspect this is a trap?" Logan let go of the long sword in the scabbard, maybe he just did it unintentionally. Bashere made a negative gesture, but he also let go of his sword. "For any place, I will suspect that there is a trap. The problem is not here. The Maharaja Suros still only allows me and Manfr to talk to her. The servants they arranged for us are all dumb, just like us and Roja as when I went to Ibouda with you." "The servant assigned to me had his tongue cut off." Royal's voice was full of disgust, his ears were pulled back, and his thick knuckles turned white from holding the handle of the ax tightly.Haman let out an exclamation, and his ears froze like tree trunks. "The people of Atla have just embraced a new king." Bashere continued, "But in the Palace of Terrassin, both the Seanchan and the people of Atla seem to be walking on thin ice, and even Suros sees It also looks like there is a sharp sword hanging around her neck at all times." "Maybe they're afraid of the Doomsday War," Rand said. "Or the Dragon Reborn. I've got to play it safe. Fearful people do stupid things. What's the deal now, Bashere?" Marshal Saldaea took out the map in his coat pocket, walked to Rand, and unfolded it. "Their arrangement is very precise. She will bring six sin slave masters and sin slaves, but there will be no other followers." Alivia made a sound like an angry cat meowing.Bashere blinked, obviously not expecting this reaction from the freed ex-slave.After a pause, he continued: "You can bring five people who can channel, and she will think that every man you bring can channel, but you can bring a woman who cannot channel, so Make sure you're on par with her." Ming suddenly clung to Rand's side and took his arm. "No," Rand said firmly. He's not going to lead Min into a possible trap. "We need to talk about this." Ming murmured, the bondage was full of intransigence. When this sentence came out of a woman's mouth, it was probably only a little better than "I'm going to kill you".Rand thought.Suddenly, he felt chills all over his body. Is this what he thought?Or Lews Therin? The madman was giggling in the back of his head.It doesn't matter, no matter what, in three days, there will be a difficult problem to be solved. "Anything else, Bashere?" Nynaeve carefully lifted the wet cloth from her eyes, trying not to catch the relic of the bracelet and chain ring in her hair, which she wore now, along with her ter'arreal receptacle, whenever she was not asleep. jewelry. After many deadly wounds and a few stumps healed, it shouldn't be a big deal to have someone else treat her for a headache, but willow bark works just as well for this little problem, just a bit more slowly.A pale green stone in one of her rings was flickering faintly inside, as if it was constantly beating on her finger, though it wasn't actually moving at all.The pattern of the ring's vibrations was quite chaotic, suggesting that there was both anodic and anodic forces being channeled outside, and even someone inside the house was channeling them.Cadsuane believed that the ter'angan also pointed in the direction of the channeling, though she could not tell how it pointed.what!Cadsuane also has something she doesn't know! Nynaeve wished she could say that in front of that woman, but of course she didn't do it because she was afraid of Cadsuane—of course not, she was in a higher position than Cadsuane, but she wanted to maintain peace. Her rapport, that's why she's careful around Cadsuane. The room she and Lan shared was quite spacious, but it was also very drafty. The windows and window frames here did not fit very well. After many generations of erosion, there were many gaps in the door, allowing the cold wind to pass through at will. Pass. The flames in the stone fireplace kept beating, beeping and beeping sparks, like a bonfire in the wild. The pattern on the carpet was worn to the extent that it was almost unrecognizable, and the small holes burned by the sparks had already been counted. I don't know. The bed she had just been lying on had heavy corner posts and worn hangings. The bed itself was large and firm, but the old mattress had many lumps and knots. There was probably more feathers in the pillow that had penetrated the pillowcase than was contained, and the blanket was covered by patches over half of it.But this is her and Lan's room, and with Lan here, everything is different, he makes this place like a palace. Rand was standing at a window where he had been when the attack had begun, and now he was looking down at the sweeping work outside the house.Or, observing the manor grounds turned into slaughterhouses. Losing his temper? She snorted.
