Wan Resav of Russia wrote an article "What Are the Necessary Conditions for Being a Literary Artist", advocating respect for one's own individuality; there is a passage in the middle: Not long ago there were two currents fighting each other in Russian art—that of "popular art" and "pure art."Some people think that art should serve contemporary life, describe its shortcomings and embarrassments, and set out to strive for this purpose. Some people objected, saying that this is a matter for political commentators, that art is independent of itself and can be related to "eternal preciousness", and that various temporary and modern things can be ignored.

Nekrasov said that the poet is ashamed to sing about the beauty of the sea and the sky, and the intimacy of his lover in a sad age. Of course, if you are surrounded by melancholy that prevents you from thinking of nature and lovers—nor should you sing about it—you can't even if you want to.But if you look at the seascape when you are in joy, if you lean on your lover's cheek, and you are unwilling to express your emotions through artistic means, just because of "shame", then you are definitely not a poet. On the contrary, Pushkin said in his poem: Not for the disturbance of life, not for profit, let alone for battle, we were born for spiritualization, for sweet voices and prayers.

But if "disturbances of life" or "battles" excite your creative repercussions, how can a poet reject such repercussions simply because he does not seem to live for them? And who can know what he was born for?The teachers of the eternal art, the ancient Greeks, were completely free from the limits of this art. . . . Wan Lei Sav's words are extremely fair.I think that anyone who "really has" a free spirit will not object to his argument. The so-called free creation, the so-called respect for individuality, the essence is nothing more than this! According to this argument, we can also know that if the creator clearly sees the "disturbance of life" and is "surrounded by the sorrows around him", but deceives himself that the world is peaceful, he is also deceiving himself and trying to deceive others.Of course we do not ridicule people who have no courage to face up to the "disturbances of life" and voluntarily flee to the "clouds", but if this person conceals his own "escape", he will "not eat the fireworks"

It seems like saying some extremely high-level words, saying that it is not enough to see the purity of one's character, so why not? I believe that creative freedom should be respected; but I especially believe that to respect your own creative freedom, you must first respect the creative freedom of others. Therefore, in my opinion, what Wan Lei Saf said is really a golden rule for domestic writers!
