As the centenary of Nietzsche's death approaches, philosophy professors around the world are planning to commemorate it.For this figure who had a great influence in the field of philosophy, the philosophical circle certainly has sufficient reasons to commemorate him.My worry is that if the person being commemorated is really a great man in spirit, any external way of commemorating him may have nothing to do with him, and become a kind of professional or journalistic excitement for the living. I have done some research on Nietzsche myself, and I know that Nietzsche's philosophical contributions are very remarkable even from an academic point of view.

To use an analogy, Western philosophy is like a treasure hunter traveling long distances. For two thousand years, he has been struggling to find a treasure that is considered life-threatening—some ultimate truth of the world. Kant awakened this person and ordered him to stop. , pointed out to him with convincing logic that the treasure he was looking for was hidden in a secret room absolutely inaccessible to human beings. As a result, the lost person was covered in cold sweat and sat slumped by the side of the road, losing the purpose and strength to continue walking. At this time Nietzsche came and revealed a more terrifying fact to the lost: the treasure did not exist at all, and even the secret room where the treasure was hidden was fabricated by Kant. However, he then reminded this desperate lost person: There are no treasures in the world, and your mission is to legislate the value of things and create treasures that can deify human existence.Having said this, he passed the lost and walked towards the wilderness at the end of the road. The lost man looked at the back of the prophet who was gradually disappearing into the wilderness, and if he realized something, he stood up and followed, embarking on a journey to find another treasure.

In the above analogy, I roughly summarized Nietzsche’s contributions in breaking and building, that is, on the one hand, he finally destroyed the Western traditional metaphysics that started from Plato, and on the other hand, he opened up a new way of interpreting the world based on value revaluation. New Direction. It must be mentioned that in the process of breaking the law, he fully demonstrated his philosophical genius. For example, his repeated elucidation of the view that phenomena are the only way of existence in the world, and his profound exposure of the misleading role of language in the formation of metaphysics show that he has touched on the two most important philosophical movements in the twentieth century-phenomenology And philosophy of language -- the basic idea.

However, the most important significance of Nietzsche lies not in the exploration of academic theory, but in the demonstration of spirit. He is a man who truly regards philosophy as his life.I always remember a sentence he said at the beginning of his career in philosophy: "A philosopher is not only a great thinker, but also a real person." This sentence was aimed at Kant.Kant proved the impossibility of metaphysics as scientific truth. Nietzsche well understood the weight of this argument and pointed out that it was the starting point that all philosophers after Kant could not avoid. What made him dissatisfied and even indignant was that Kant held an impartial scholarly attitude towards his own thesis, and most philosophers after Kant gave up thinking about fundamental issues with peace of mind and were only satisfied with side issues discussion. In Nietzsche's view, the pursuit of the highest truth of the world and life is the need of the soul, so it is still the main mission of philosophy, but the path of seeking must be changed. Therefore, on the one hand, he is a ruthless critic of traditional metaphysics, and on the other hand, he is an enthusiastic explorer with metaphysical desire in a broad sense. If this latter aspect is neglected, we risk utterly misrepresenting him while honoring him.

My concern is well-founded.The trend in today's philosophical circles is the so-called post-modernization, and various post-modern trends of thought have unfurled the banner of Nietzsche one after another. In such excitement, Nietzsche has also been post-modernized.As a result, revaluation has become nothingness of value, diversity of interpretation has become arbitrariness of interpretation, and Dionysian spirit has become feigning drunkenness and madness.Postmodern philosophers push the anti-metaphysical position to the extreme, and what is deconstructed is not only the world text, but also philosophy itself.Nietzsche wants to lead philosophy from a dead end to the wilderness, and open a new road in the wilderness, but they happily encourage philosophy to take drugs and commit suicide, but they still claim to be Nietzsche's spiritual descendants.Nietzsche has been living in the turmoil of the highest issues all his life, diligently looking for a positive overall explanation for the world and life, so there is no similarity with them.It is said that they also learned the free style of writing from Nietzsche. However, Nietzsche's freedom is a stream, a light dance in the sun, but their freedom is a collage, a random gesture under colored lights. In my opinion, Nietzsche suffered the two biggest distortions in the hundred years after his death. The first was fascism, and the second was post-modernization.Another reason I doubt postmodern philosophers is that they are too fashionable. They tend to be people who like to appear in the media.Nietzsche's loneliness during his lifetime is well known.Although times have changed, it is doubtful that a philosopher or a philosophy will become fashionable after all.

Two years ago, I visited a small town called Sears-Maria in Switzerland, where Nietzsche spent eight summers, and now the small building where he lived is named Nietzsche’s former residence. When I went inside and watched tourists buy various souvenirs sold in the name of Nietzsche, I couldn't help thinking how much the so-called memorial concealed the truth.Back then, Nietzsche was just a poor boarder in this so-called former residence, half-blind and sick all over. He wrote works that no publisher would accept by a dim kerosene lamp. It is almost impossible to find anyone willing to read it.From here he sent a desperate cry to the world, but no one answered, and it was this boundless silence and eternal loneliness that finally drove him mad.And now, people come here from all over the world to visit his former residence to commemorate him.Is it really a commemoration?Sears-Maria is a scenic spot at the foot of the Alps. For the vast majority of tourists, the so-called Nietzsche's former residence is just a scenic spot, and the so-called visit is just a tourist program.

Therefore, as the centenary of Nietzsche's death approaches, I stay away from all kinds of external commemorative ceremonies with suspicion, preferring to silently review the spiritual legacy of this real person. 20008
