Chapter 23 Holy Namtso

Say goodbye to the pure Qinghai Lake and go to find the beautiful lake on the other side of the plateau.Time is flexible, and you only need to take a wisp of elegant breeze to travel through thousands of miles of stratus clouds, fly over thousands of mountains and evening snow, and come to the holy Namtso. This side of the lake is a clear memory left in Tianshan Mountains over the years. Namtso is located between Damxung County and Bang'e County in the north of Lhasa, north of the main peak of Nyainqentanglha Mountain, 240 kilometers away from Lhasa. With an altitude of 4718 meters, Namtso Lake is the highest lake in the world.Namtso is miraculous. Just now, I was enjoying the scenery in reality, but in an instant, I fell into a blue dream.Precipitate life in it, feel the clean azure blue of the lake, the noble sapphire blue, and the melancholy dark blue.People are afraid that such unintentional intrusion will disturb Namtso's quiet dream, but they don't know that the dream has already treasured you and me.

The rolling snow-capped mountains are like a dream, and every vivid moment changes different scenery.Capture the beauty in various poses and with different expressions with your eyes, and the scenery will run over our hearts in the blink of an eye, so that people who come here will not have any fleeting misses. There are tents under the blue sky, and the rising smoke tells people that this clean land is actually filled with the most simple fireworks in the world. In winter, there is a thick layer of ice on the shore of the lake, but the lake water is rippling as always.A holy sky lake seems to remind that there are many beautiful myths hidden here.As the wind passes by, the legends collected by the lake will be shaken out, quietly telling their stories of vicissitudes. And all of these embody the themes of auspiciousness, peace and happiness.

Because of the beauty of the legend and the holiness of Tianshui, Namtso has life and emotion. In the Year of the Goat, all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dharma protectors gather in Namtso Lake and set up an altar to promote the Dharma Assembly. At this time, going around the lake to chant scriptures once is far better than worshiping tens of thousands of times in ordinary times. The pilgrims have worked tirelessly and traveled from different regions, just to use the compassionate water of the holy lake to wash away diseases and sufferings and seek a kind of blessing and wisdom. The prayer flags fluttering in the wind remember the sincere possession at this moment. The Manidui on the shore of Namtso Lake seems to have received the decree of the Buddha and used the soul to guard this sacred place. The beliefs of the believers are like stones on the shore of the lake. They are thrown into the holy lake by them, and they move themselves and others.

The blue waves are light, leisurely telling a romantic love.According to legend, Namtso is the daughter of Di Shitian and the wife of Nyainqentanglha. They stay together in the Tianshan Mountains, and have a life-and-death relationship in the world. The intersection of mountains and water, and the superimposition of water and mountains, are like the pair of couple stones standing by the lake, protecting each other affectionately.Maybe they can't remember how long they have been snuggling like this, how many sunrises and sunsets they have seen, and people coming and going. There is no pledge of eternal love, but there is a forever. On the shore of the lake, there is also a pious stone of palms together, which prays for all things, for the people who have lived in Namtso for generations, and for every guest who comes to Namtso.

The lake at dusk has faded from the blue waves at this time, and is shining with bright golden light, just like the light of compassion and auspiciousness blooming from the eyebrows of the Buddha, selflessly illuminating the mountains and rivers of the earth.People bathed in the waves enjoy the equality and benevolence given by nature. Namtso is like a jade pot, falling on the distant snow-capped mountains, exuding a crystal clear temperament, touching the heart, making people want to collect this holiness.A nun who came to fetch water leaned down and used the pot in her hand to hold the spirit of the lake water, carrying the tranquility of life and receiving the time of Zen.This process of kindness is just like the cause and effect mentioned by the Buddhists. After fetching the water, the old nun carried the jug on his back, and looked back step by step. His eyes, which implied Zen, revealed a compassion for all living beings, and a kind of calmness of forgetting things and me.What is left to us is just a distant figure and a bodhi time.

Then, before saying goodbye to Namtso, let’s also pack a can of water from the holy lake.In the future, no matter whether you drink it or seal it up, you will know that there is a lake of great beauty flowing in your heart, which can nourish your soul and cleanse your life.
