Chapter 14 In the boundless world, the pure lotus is widely planted

In the dusk of Qingqiu, there is always a feeling of depression, walking through the window, making people slightly sad.Even if you close the curtains, the cool wind will still permeate you.All the toughness is soft for it, and all the indifference is emotional for it.Thinking of Liu Ruoying, who was lost in Wuzhen in "Time Like Water", at dusk in the water town, her heart is so fragile.Every evening, she has to close the curtains, thinking that in this way, she can keep out the cold of the world. But the people in the house were still shattered by the inexplicable wind. It's a pity that she couldn't stay in Wuzhen after all. The gray tiles and gray walls on the waterfront and the ancient Fengyuan Twin Bridges were forever frozen in the evening of the town for her.

The lotus of this season has fallen slowly with the autumn wind.In the pond, some leaves and stalks are still nostalgic for the water. This kind of support is because I am afraid that I will not be able to hold on to my dying youth.A wooden boat moored on the willow bank is just to decorate the artistic conception of the lotus pond and the nostalgic dreams of the tourists.Suddenly, I remembered a poem by an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty: "The heart is like a boundless ocean, and the pure lotus is widely planted to nourish the body and mind." Such a broad mind requires a person who has fully realized clarity to have such a mind. This person may not be an eminent Buddhist monk, maybe he is just an ordinary person in the secular world, as long as they have a Zen mind, they can also plant lotus lotuses to purify their souls.

Yes, how vast a person's heart should be, it can hold all kinds of clouds and smoke. The sun, moon, stars, high mountains and flowing water are all hidden in the depths of people's hearts. Everyone can use their hearts to understand the state of the world and make good fortune. When the lotus of the seasons can't help but fall with time, maybe only the lotus in my heart can bloom as before regardless of the seasons. This is not a dream, but a boundless Zen.A holy heart can nourish all things and contain everything. When you are confused, you can pick a lotus flower. With its cleanliness, it will save all living beings, so we don't have to worry about sinking in the vast lotus pond.

"I have a pair of hands that have nothing to do, and I want to be a merciful person in the world." When a lotus flower is planted in a person's heart, how can the world's material desires and vulgar dust still intrude? If this mind is not abiding, it has long been far away from pollution, and some people who have achieved Nirvana in the Buddha's realm cannot enjoy the detached leisure alone. You should know that there are boundless sentient beings in this world who are still reincarnated in the sea of life and death. Those who practice Buddhism, because of their bodhicitta, are merciful to help the world, and save the utilitarian guests and dreamers in the world of mortals.Perhaps only in this way, the lotus blooming in the heart can withstand the replacement of fleeting years and never wither.

The first time I read this poem, I was moved by the master's compassion.Because I am also one of the mortal beings, when I am confused, I also need a lotus flower to purify my soul and save me from the sea of suffering. The so-called sea of suffering is not the sea of suffering of the world of mortals, but the sea of suffering of the human heart.Even though there are too many filth and temptations in the world of mortals, there are still clean and pure-hearted people who emerge from the mud. Those who are immersed in the emotions they have brewed and cannot let go can only continue to wander in the sea of dust.In fact, only one who loves himself can love others; only one who can save himself can save others. Therefore, those eminent monks who have attained the Tao first cultivate themselves out of the sea of dust, and then transform sentient beings again.

The eminent monk who wrote this poem was called Huangbo Xiyun, a native of Fujian in the Tang Dynasty. He became a monk in Huangbo Mountain in Honshu when he was young. He was intelligent and sensitive, proficient in Zen theory, and devoted himself to promoting Buddhism, which made Huangbo Mountain a gathering of scholars.Zen Master Huangbo once visited Zen Master Baizhang Huaihai to gain enlightenment, and Zen Master Baizhang liked him very much. After a conversation, Zen Master Baizhang said to Huangbo: "Don't let me down in the future." It can be seen that Buddhism only saves people who can be saved. The rain only nourishes the grass of spirituality.A dull heart without spirituality, no matter how you touch it and wipe it, it will not be transparent and harmonious.

Zen Master Huangbo vigorously advocated the idea that "the mind is the Buddha", and he only talked about one mind.Thousands of words only teach people not to use them wrongly. "One mind", separation is the devil, forgetting the machine is the Buddha. So his heart will be as vast and boundless as the sea.He planted a lot of pure lotus in his heart, not only for the sake of resting his body and mind, but also for saving the vast world with the dust-free Zen state and the compassionate Dharma.Let all living beings freely ferry in the lotus sea, avoiding unnecessary entanglement and loss.Buddhism is like this. There is an infinite power in the dark, which can nourish the thirsty heart without rain, and warm the cold people without lighting a fire. And we dare not desecrate that pure land easily, as if stepping into a temple, our hearts will be nourished by the clouds and water there, and we can bloom cleanly like a lotus flower.

Building Buddhist temples on ruined walls, planting lotus flowers on desolate land, and writing scriptures on dead branches and leaves, maybe even sin can be turned into mercy, and ugliness can also be turned into beauty. This is Buddhism, as long as a person's heart is not withered, there is a vast ocean, a fertile soil, which can cover all things and save all beings. But in this world, there are only a very small number of people who can comprehend the Dharma and separate themselves from the world of mortals. And most people are just trapped in the waves of the world, drifting in the deep water, but they are persistent and have no regrets.Everyone is doomed at birth, and fate has drawn lines on the palm of the hand. Whether you are a lotus in front of the Buddha or a grass in the world, it is clear and clear.

We are all ordinary people, but we are doing ordinary selves in the ordinary years.Because of confusion, fatigue, and sadness, I would burn a stick of sandalwood, listen to a heart sutra, and raise a few water lilies in the days when I didn't care. The purpose is to wash away some dust, meet a chance, and get a little bit of Buddha nature. And the Buddha sticks to its lotus platform, waiting for all living beings to burn incense and pray for blessings in the scenic spot of Lingshan. It is never too late at any time, because the threshold is always open for us.Until one day, the spring of life comes to an abrupt end, will there be another autumn to continue it?

Years make people old, and the fragments of the past are like yellowed black and white photos. In this world, there are always people who are constantly aging, some people are born, and some people grow up.When you are so old that only memories are left, others still hold a lot of youth, which can be squandered wantonly. But the road of life, regardless of wind and rain, is walked by oneself bit by bit, no one can replace it, and no one can plunder it.The length of life is determined, the cause of the previous life, the result of the present life, the cause of the present life, and the result of the next life. That being the case, Mo Ruo is a little more indifferent, gathers and disperses according to the circumstances, and comes and goes calmly. If you want, you can recite Buddhist scriptures all the way, and let compassion bloom in your heart like a clean lotus flower.
