Chapter 5 Let's look at the bright moon, how many times will it be round again?

The solitary peak is over ten thousand feet high, and the stick is climbing up gradually. I am a person who is used to being lonely alone in the night. Loneliness is not a kind of decadence, but just looking for a quiet excuse for the noisy day.A friend sent me a text message asking me: What are you doing?I replied: I am looking at the moon, listening to ancient music, and thinking about some old-fashioned past events.Looking back, how much do you know? The past is like this. When you want to remember it, you find that you have almost forgotten it.When you want to forget, but it keeps lingering in your mind, making you feel uneasy. There are too many past events, and not all past events are worthy of your nostalgia. The fragments of many memories shine sharply in the night, which will cut the last bit of integrity we have.In the vague impression, why should we care about forgetting or remembering?

When I see Mingyue, I always inadvertently think of the ending song of Daughter Country. "Everything in the world is often difficult to fulfill people's wishes, and how many times does the moon come back?" Actually, I mentioned this sentence many times in the article, and I even took the trouble.Because I like it and engrave it in my heart, it will be like this.So I thought of Tang Seng, a monk who vowed to give his life to the Buddha. However, he moved Fanxin in the Daughter Country, the only time of Fanxin, which the spectators will never forget. The queen of the daughter country is actually just a love robbery by Tang Seng.At that time, Tang Seng was invited by the queen to appreciate the national treasure at night. Sun Wukong said: "It depends on the master's Taoism." The Taoism here also refers to Tang Seng's concentration. The jade-like pink lady really needs extraordinary concentration to be able to sit still.

Today, I occasionally read a Zen poem by Xuanzang, a famous eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty, and I know that he is the prototype of the monk in Tang Dynasty.Wu Chengen in the Ming Dynasty derived a famous literary work based on the deeds of Xuanzang's journey westward to India to seek Buddhist scriptures and other deeds.Xuanzang in history is very different from Tang Sanzang in novels, but the same thing is that they are not afraid of hardships and dangers, starting from Chang'an and traveling all the way west. But Tang Sanzang was enlightened by Master Avalokitesvara, took four high-level disciples, and rode a white dragon horse along the way. Although he went through hardships, he also had many warm friendships. At that time, the national power of the Tang Dynasty was not yet strong, and there was a struggle with the Turkic people in the Northwest. The government forbade people to leave the customs privately.Xuanzang smuggled at night, alone, riding a skinny horse, through the Gobi and dangerous shoals, snowy peaks and wilderness, how many times he came to a place where "there are no birds above, no animals below, and no water and plants again".He could only recite silently, as if the Buddha was waving to him in front of him. From such a short distance, he could see the lotus blossoms in full bloom and the altar was clear.

Xuanzang made up his mind to go west: if he does not reach India, he will never return east. Even if the guest dies halfway, he will never regret it.So on this journey, no matter how many disasters he has experienced, he will regard it as the test of the Buddha. In the end, it took 17 years to go back and forth, with a journey of nearly 100,000 miles. He arrived in Chang'an in the first month of the 19th year of Zhenguan, and was warmly welcomed by Tang Taizong and all civil and military officials. He brought Buddha statues, Buddhist relics, and a large number of original Buddhist scriptures to the Tang Dynasty.A "Da Tang Western Regions" contains the customs, cultures and religious beliefs of more than one hundred countries, which can be said to be inclusive and all-encompassing.This book was ordered by Tang Taizong, compiled by Xuanzang himself, and compiled by his disciple Bian Ji.The content is informative and vivid, and the literary talent is fluent and flying, which can be called a treasure of Buddhism.

In seventeen years, Xuanzang devoted his best years to the long journey. When he came back, he was full of wind and frost, holding the scriptures he bought back with his youth, and he might really have no regrets in his life.Although he can't reappear his youth, at least he can retrieve some lost memories in the relics and scriptures.Kneeling in front of the Buddha, he can say frankly that I have lived up to my trust. His memoirs are enough to keep him for a lifetime. Buddhism pursues perfection and freedom, so what he remembers should be the joy of having, not the suffering. The tempering of the years has already replaced the once tough appearance. All he has is the compassion and peace of tolerating the past and forgiving the future.

Xuanzang is considered an eminent monk blessed by the Buddha. He is not the first monk to go to the West to learn scriptures, nor will he be the last.In the long history, how many monks resolutely left China and traveled long distances to the Western Regions in order to obtain the scriptures, regardless of personal safety. But there are very few people who can return, and they are all buried in the desert wilderness, cold forest and snowy area. The unattended bones can only be buried with the wild beasts, and in the silent night, they emit a flickering phosphorous fire, telling the boundless world that their souls will never leave. It was the call of the Buddha that allowed them to make such a far-reaching pursuit and go to the dangerous situation alone, just to save all living beings. It is said that extinction means rebirth. These immortal souls must be settled by the Buddha, and when their merits and virtues are perfect, they will finally be able to see the sun again.

Let go of these heavy processes, and then read Xuanzang's Zen poem: "The solitary peak has a peak of more than ten thousand feet, and the stick climbs up gradually. Walking to the Tianshang Temple by the moon, white clouds accompany two or three monks." At this time, Xuanzang, It seems to be an eminent monk who is beyond the world.Climbing sticks to climb radishes is just to find leisure in the mountains and forests in the desperate situation of isolated peaks. The temple located on the misty peak is like leaning on the bright moon, so clear that there is no trace of fireworks. There are only a few idle monks, walking between the white clouds, so leisurely.Their current mulberry fields are also exchanged for the vicissitudes of the past. The Buddha would not favor one person over another. In the journey of seeking Tao, those who are gifted and predestined may realize it earlier, but the process is actually the same complicated. When the wind and rain become yesterday, and gatherings and partings become a thing of the past, you can let go of everything and become indifferent.

On February 5th of the first year of Linde (664), Xuanzang passed away at the age of 63.Emperor Gaozong mourned for more than eternity, and for three days he was dismissed from the imperial court. After posthumously titled "Da Bianjue", he built the pagoda in Beiyuan, Fanchuan.Afterwards, there was chaos in Huangchao, and some people sent his spiritual bones to Nanjing to erect a pagoda.During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, there were towers; when it reached the chaos, there was no one who could recognize it.There are ups and downs in a hundred generations, the vicissitudes of the world are changing, and the road is dusty, no one can do it once and for all.If you want to throw everything away and sit and watch the clouds rise, you must first go through calamities. After walking through the long and calamity-ridden night, standing on the top of the building at dawn, you will know who is the one who really walks to the end.

Life is like floating clouds and flowing water. The past is hard to recover, and all we have is the present.Be a person who forgets suffering, and learn to be grateful in the incomplete and broken. In the blank pages of life, we fill ourselves, bleach and dye different colors, and smear different fireworks.Until one day, the soul is as peaceful as a orchid at dawn, and at that time, we will really be consummated.
