Have confidence in the guru, have compassion for all beings, and believe in cause and effect. If you can’t do these three things, even if Shakyamuni Buddha came to teach Dzogchen in person, you still can’t be enlightened. In 1987, Dharma King Ruyibao took out the meaning terma "Manjusri's Meditation Dzogchen - Bestow Buddha in Hands" from the East Terrace of Wutai Mountain. After returning to the college, he began to preach this precious method to his disciples. It lasted for 100 days. a thousand people. The Dharma king said: "Because of the blessing of Manjushri Bodhisattva, the people who participated in the practice were very pure, so this treasure method was preached in such a large area. This situation will not happen again in the future."

At that time, in addition to listening to the Dharma in front of the Dharma King every day and practicing according to the tips taught by the Dharma King, I was also in charge of giving after-class tutoring for several fellow Taoists. One day, Dasen said sadly to me: "Human life is so rare, and it is so difficult to meet a guru. If you can't get enlightened when you teach such a special Dharma this time, I'm afraid you won't have the chance to be enlightened in the future." Because he encountered obstacles in the practice of the Dharma and had not been enlightened for a long time, he burst into tears and begged me to explain to him again the main points that the Dharma King taught in class. While comforting him, I reviewed the teachings of His Holiness with him (the following parts are all teachings of His Holiness):

Have confidence in the guru, have compassion for all living beings, and believe in cause and effect. If you can’t do these three points, even if Shakyamuni Buddha came to teach Dzogchen in person, you can’t be enlightened; if you do these three points, even if you don’t Even the appearance of the demon king cannot lead you away from the right path of liberation. It is not true that the guru is indistinguishable from the Buddha, but that there are higher buddhas and bodhisattvas besides the guru. People who have this kind of thinking cannot be enlightened. Before Shakyamuni Buddha Nirvana, Ananda was very sad and urged the Buddha to live in this world. The Buddha said: "Disciple, don't be sad, I will come back in the image of the master to save sentient beings."

The Buddha follows the karmic karma of all living beings, and saves all living beings in the sea of samsara in different forms.Sometimes, he manifests the image of Buddha, such as Buddha turning the wheel of Dharma; sometimes he manifests the image of Bodhisattva, such as Manjusri and Avalokitesvara; sometimes he appears in front of us in the image of ordinary people, such as the guru we see; Sometimes he even turns into birds, cows and other animals to save sentient beings. Therefore, the guru is the Buddha that you can see in real time, and it is the concrete appearance of your inner Buddha-nature.

Pray to the guru and rest in peace.Enlightened people live in their original mind, and unenlightened people live in the steadfast understanding of emptiness. Praying and resting repeatedly in this way, at least half an hour a day, is of great help to enlightenment and consolidation of enlightenment. Our karma with Mipham Rinpoche is very close. When we visualize the guru, Mipham Rinpoche and Manjushri as one, we will definitely be blessed and enlightened. When I was just over one year old and just learned to call my mother, I had unpretentious and natural expressions of great compassion. At the age of seven or eight, I had a comprehension of the realm of Dzogchen in my heart. And I realized the Supreme Dzogchen when I was fifteen years old, I had great faith in Mipham Rinpoche, prayed to Mipham Rinpoche, and concentrated on reciting "Directly Pointing to the Mind".This is my personal experience, and I hope it can inspire you, my disciples. The teachings handed down by Mipham Rinpoche must be read and practiced frequently.

All the patriarchs in the Dzogchen lineage I hold, from Samantabhadra King Tathagata to Toga Ruyi Jewel, are all true Buddhas without exception.Although I am just an ordinary person myself, my lineage is still extremely pure and sublime, because I have never regarded my closest root guru Mipham Rinpoche and Toga Cinnamon as different from Buddha, nor have I made any other The masters who taught me the Dharma were displeased, and I respect and love them sincerely. Dharma seekers, when you seek the inheritance of Dzogchen, you must carefully observe the master who transmits the Dharma. If he has displeased or even slandered his guru, his lineage has been polluted. The line of inheritance, which is as precious and pure as gold, has been broken by him, and you will not receive any blessings from the inheritance through him.

Dasen said that he has not yet mastered the five major treatises, and wonders if this will affect his enlightenment. In fact, knowledge and enlightenment are two different things.Knowledge of the scriptures will of course contribute to enlightenment, but it does not necessarily guarantee enlightenment. Enlightenment is easy to say. "Manjushri Meditation Dzogchen - Bestowing Buddha in Hands" covers all the content of practice from ordinary people to complete enlightenment and Buddhahood, but it is only written in five thin pages. In the tradition of Tibetan teaching, as long as one relies on a true mahasiddha and has full confidence in the guru, enlightenment is possible anytime and anywhere.

At that time, Patrul Rinpoche and his disciple Niushi Longduo practiced Dharma in Shiqu. The two live in poverty, and can only eat a little tsampa every day.One day, a benefactor offered a flatbread made of ginseng fruit powder and milk dregs.Patrul Rinpoche said: "Let's divide it up, half of each person." Nyushi Longduo said: "Master, you can eat it, I don't want it." Patrul Rinpoche said: "Bring a knife, and I will divide it. This Where is the head of the cake and where is the tail?" When Nyuxilongduo heard this, his heart suddenly became clear, and at that moment he reached an unprecedented state of enlightenment.

There is also a story about Mipham Rinpoche. He went to see Jiangyang Khyentse Wangpo, but was blocked by arrogant guards.Mipham Rinpoche tried his best to push the guard aside and forced his way into the courtyard. When he came in and saw Jiangyang Khyentse Wangpo sitting with a cloak covering his face, he was so frightened that he didn't dare to breathe out, bowed his head and knelt obediently in front of the master.Suddenly, Jiangyang Khyentse Wangpo stretched out his head from the cloak, slapped Mipham Rinpoche hard on the head, and shouted: "Who are you?" Mipham Rinpoche became enlightened the moment he appeared.

Zen also has many such koans.Don't take them as anecdotes, or think that enlightenment is so simple, maybe one day you will become enlightened for no reason! If you don't have enough faith in your guru, even if you hit your head with a big stick, it is impossible to become enlightened. We ordinary people should not always imagine that enlightenment will suddenly fall on us like a pie in the sky.Dzogchen Dharma has clearly pointed out the order of practice and enlightenment for us, and we will have the effect if we practice diligently according to the order. And any progress made in practice comes from the compassionate blessing of the master.

For decades, Khenpo Dasen has not changed his original intention, and has always lived a pure life of practice, without desires or desires for everything in the world. His confidence in his guru has never diminished, and he only seeks liberation with all his heart.Anyone who has been to Tashi Chiling knows what a great practitioner he is. I often think sadly: Dasen Khenpo, Cong Da, and Tenzin Nima have been following me humblely as waiters all year round, working silently, but in fact, their practice is so advanced that they should be respected and offered by everyone! The Dharma King Ruyibao said: If a person who has obtained the Dzogchen Dharma has full confidence in the guru, does not break the tantra precepts, does not slander the Dharma, and practices diligently in order, it is possible to be liberated in this life. Those who have not achieved immediate liberation can still be liberated when the dharmata bardo or reincarnation bardo appears. Not to mention the human realm, even the animal realm and other sentient beings, as long as they hear the Dzogchen Dharma, they will definitely be able to encounter the Dzogchen Dharma again when they are fifteen to twenty-five years old in the next life. If the conditions are met, they will definitely be liberated. Chiarombo September 10, 2008 Oral narration on the 10th day of the seventh month of the Tibetan calendar Disciples truthfully record
