Chapter 30 Section five

"On the way." Reed fumbled her phone back on the nightstand, the unpleasant news knocking her out of sleep. Pippa turned over on the side, wrapping her arms around Rhett who was about to struggle to get up. "Cathy?" "Go to sleep, advisor. It's still early." Pippa held out her arm. "Where are you going?" "We found another body." Pippa forced herself to sit up. "Cathy, it's four thirty in the morning." "I know." Rhett gently moved her partner's arm to the other side. "I'm sorry, lover. It's the duty."

Pippa groaned, pulling the comforter over her shoulders. "Now you're the Chief Inspector. Why do you still have to be there?" "Because I'm the Chief Inspector." Rhett lit a light bulb beside him. "Cathy, please. Turn that light off." "Then I'll dress up in the dark, how? Can I brush my teeth? Or will this hinder your Highness's sleep even more?" "Go and come back quickly." Red leaned over and kissed Pippa's lips. "Well, miss me, baby?" Pippa rolled over. "No, I just need you to come back quickly and prepare the kids' breakfast."

Rhett threw her pillow at Pippa and headed to the bathroom. "In a way, I think the disposal of dead bodies in my jurisdiction takes precedence over bread and jam." Pippa reached out and turned off the light. "You might think so, Cassandra. But I don't."
